    • Not cheap, but very well made and thought out
I got this after I decided to convert my Glock 30SF from iron sights to a Vortex Venom RDS. All the hardware is of very high quality and machined well. Installation was very easy, requiring a brass punch and hammer to drive the old sights out and the mounting plate base in, two allen wrenches for the screws, and a Glock front sight tool. I recommend using some sort of thread locker to make sure the screws stay in place, and I also put some Teflon tape under the mounting plate. Teflon tape is very thin and durable, stands up to oils and solvents, and should protect the slide’s finish against scratches from metal-on-metal contact. One minor criticism is that the product doesn’t come with any instructions. Outerimpact has a very useful installation video on their site that is easier to follow than printed instructions, but there is a table of red dot sights and which model-specific screws etc. to use that really should come printed with the product to avoid damaging the sights, mounting plate, or even the slide. ... show more

Works great. I recommend installing it with professional not a diy item. If your running the RMR you cannot use the oem screws because they are too long. Use the ones in the kit. There are two sets of cone shaped head I believe its #6 on package , but verify. It will be the biggest one from smallest. The small ones will come off. Trust me the RMR became loose and hit my forehead while shooting. So again use the one that is a bit bigger and cone shaped to fit on the RMR Trijicon red dot. ... show more

I purchased this to see if I liked my RMR on my Glock enough to have the slide milled. It is well made with tight tolerances and works exactly as described. The only thing I don't like is that it is significantly longer than the length of an RMR resulting in the plate extending in front of the optic. Not a big deal, just be aware of that if a clean look is a big deal to you. For me, it has worked great through several hundred rounds and I like it enough that I believe I will get my slide milled. ... show more

    • Easy to install
I removed the rear sight from my Glock 34 Gen4. Replaced it with the adapter and installed an RMR. SImple and easy. The online video shows the steps to do it. It is very nice how they provide all the screws for different red dots and put them in separate bags that are labeled. Makes it simple to find the right mounting screws. I need to go to the range and test this for stability and see if there is any movement due to recoil. I am not expecting any. But based on installation, i am giving it 5 stars. I purchased this to install on my Gen 3 Glock 21sf pistol, removing the stock rear sight was the most difficult part of the process, I used a towel to wrap the slide and clamp it in a vice, and used a punch and hammer to remove the rear sight. Once you get the mounting bar installed into the dove tail on the slide, the rest of the installation was very simple and easy. The manufacturer has a very good video of the install process on their website. I have yet to test it on the range, but the install went very well. Be sure to use loctite on the screws, and use the screws provided in this kit to mount the optic, NOT the screws that came with the optic. This is critically important to prevent stripping the threads. I really like the alignment pins which make sure you mount it square on the slide. ... show more

    • Good part but missing stuff
This mount is very well made and clean looking but package was missing the 2 locator pins. I ordered another one just to get the pins which sucks to pay double. I couldn't find any way to contact seller. Just return or refund. It's already been mounted and I threw away the box as soon as it came in.

    • Okay despite some flaws, Responsive customer service
The product appeared well made and the instructions and video were easy enough to follow. Unfortunately, the dovetail did NOT fit my Advantage Arms Glock conversion well, which normally hosts standard Glock sights without issue. While pressing in the dovetail using a nylon drift, the studs on the dovetail both broke off. The sight mount seems sturdy enough without them, but the studs are not milled as part of the dovetail and being soldered or pressed in, are easy to break off. Be warned also that this sight mount does not currently work with the Holosun 507c. Even though the 507c uses a RMR mount template, the screws provided in this kit do not work. Instead, I had to purchase screws from the hardware store and cut them to size. No stars deducted for this, because the literature doesn't mention the Holosun as a compatible sight, so I knew I might have to do some modification. I did contact customer service and they were extremely responsive, though they did not offer to send me screws to support the Holosun optic. Overall the product seems to be working, but deducted 2 stars for it breaking upon install. ... show more
