I bought these pants for a hiking trip in Seattle. I knew it would be raining and I knew I would be hiking in snow, so I wanted something warm and something to keep me dry. These pants did exactly that. I hiked in knee deep snow and they kept me warm and dry. It also faired well in the rain. They were very comfortable and flexible. I highly recommend these pants if you’re hiking in rain or snow. These were an unexpected find. In the moist region of Washington state I wore these noble trousers to avoid the uncomfortable reality of wet jimmies. The pants fit comfortably as is, but I still needed a belt as per being an odd in-between in waist size. The waterproof is no lie and I stayed dry for the entire trip. Really enjoy wearing them. They are not xtremely watm, and comfortable. I use them as casual wear; not as skiing pants. The fact that they sit on or above the waist is just amazing. Outdoor Ventures Ski/Snow Pants Note: Some of the photos make the pants appear grey, it is a deep black. Initial Impression • Pants fit good 
• A disposable tag on the pants say they are Windproof, Elastic and Waterproof, no permanent tag that says this 
 • Advertised as high-waisted, seems like one inch higher, not uncomfortably high unless you normally wear your pants really low, not an issue for me • Adjustable velcro waist straps • Belt Loops • To be worn with long johns or underwear, would be snug if you want to wear pants underneath • The shell of the fabric is soft, not stiff which usually makes jackets or pants noisy 
• I find these pants fitted in the seat, hips and thighs, and the fabric does not rub, there is no swishing sound from the thighs • I get a swishy sound as the pant cuffs rub once in a while because they are wider for going over ski boots, not a deal breaker (not George Constanza suit swishy) • 4 Pockets, 2 Front, 2 Back and all four zipper close • If you want cargo pockets, look elsewhere • Zipper pulls are reflective • Articulated knees • Fabric does flex for freedom of movement • Pant Cuffs are 23 cm (9 in) wide • Do they fit over ski boots... yes they do • Do not know about snowboard boots • Pants do not have leg vents • Pants do not have gaiters, snaps or zippers on the leg cuffs • There is a hard plastic loop in the front near the left pocket, probably can be used to hook a carabiner on • All pockets and inside pants are fleeced lined Cons • Would have been better if pockets were smooth nylon instead of fleece, easier to put things in and take out • You choose by waist size and inseam length based on their chart, pants delivered will come with a tag that says S, M, L, etc • This means their selection of pants is not as granular as you think, a conversion is being done from the numbers you provide and it is a hit or miss if they fit like they were tailored, OK or they drag on the ground • This is why reviews and answers about fit is all over the map • You want a tailored experience, take them to a tailor or put a crowbar in your wallet for out of the box fits like a glove pants • It is the seller and/or website owner who are getting a tailored experience because you are providing measurements that are closest to what you normally wear and you get a generic S, M, L, etc in return Final Thoughts • Disappointed pants are not as tailored as advertised, inseam wise • They fit good in the waist, seat, hips and thighs, not baggy so no swishy sound when walking, cuffs brush occasionally which is to be expected since they need to be large enough to fit over ski boots, not constantly brushing and is a non-issue • Pants were warm and dry while skiing for 4 days • Length of pants can be tailored, no elastic gaiters, zippers or button clasps on the cuffs, this would prevent tailoring • Like that there are 4 pockets, all zipper close • Would prefer the pockets to be nylon instead of fleece to put things in easier and take out • These are inexpensive, warm and fit well, a recommended buy • If these pants were as granular as advertised I would give it 5 stars, truth in advertising –––––– ... show more

The pants are just what I wanted. They fit perfectly and are warm. Just what I need for golfing during the wet Washington weather. By the way, they look better than expected.

We don't go to the snow often, so I didn't want to spend a ton of money on snow pants. These fit well and performed well, especially for the price. I played with my kids in the snow all weekend and they repelled moisture and kept me warm.
