  • Good glove for light duty in the not-too-cold.
Color: Black Size: Medium
These were great gloves and I wanted to like them more but they didn't work out for me in the long run. I used these as my day-to-day gloves in temperatures from 20s to 40s, especially when bicycle commuting. They were adequate for light insulation and wind protection, provided great dexterity, and worked fine on my smartphone screen. They're not meant to be real winter gloves, and that's consistent with my experience. They get a bit wet all the way through in rain or playing in snow, and they don't have significant insulation for temperatures in the 20s or below. They could also be good glove liners for a heavy winter glove. The rubber grippy things on the palm and fingertips were fragile and my bicycle handles rubbed most of them off. Other than that they were working fine for me day-to-day. Then I used them as my light gloves for a relatively warm, 3-day mountaineering adventure and something (maybe carrying the ice axe, maybe crawling around in snow, maybe the straps on my pack) wore holes in the fingertips. Outdoor Research gave me a warranty return and a full refund via gift card. I'm tempted to replace them with the same gloves since I don't normally work them as hard as that mountaineering trip, but I'll explore other options first. ... show more

  • Balanced glove
Color: Black Size: Large
These gloves are the right balance of warm and functional. I mean actually warm not "just can barely still feel my fingers warm" you get with thin gloves. The windproof back takes the bite out of cold windy days but the gloves aren't so thick that I can't manipulate my car keys. The only reason they are not a 5 is that I wish they were stretchier but I think that's just a limit of fabric technology. ... show more

  • Best gloves I've ever had!
Color: Black Size: Small
They completely block the wind, are form-fitting allowing good dexterity, and the touch sensors work perfectly. The wrists are tight, which is nice once you get your hands in.

  • I prefer the Outdoor Research Vigor Midweight to these gloves
Color: Black Size: X-Large
**This is the same review I posted for the OR Vigor Midweight gloves I bought. I ended up returning the Backstop gloves.** OR makes a diverse lineup of gloves which is GREAT! It gives us a lot of options. I was considering some gloves in this weight class and had looked at several options. Too thick of a glove and you lose dexterity or may have circulation issues. To thin of a glove, and it is not warm enough. My use case is for cycling in temperatures from 20F to 40F where wind chill is an issue. I thought that the Backstop sensor gloves would be best for this application because they have GoreTex Wind Stopper. When I got the Backstop Sensor gloves home, I got them wet right away and walked around with one glove on one hand, and a Vigor Midweight on the other. Right away, you could tell that with the air passing over it, the Backstop was cooler than the Vigor. Next, got both gloves wet, wrung them out, and weighed them on a gram scale. I hung both out to dry in the sun and then weighed them later. The Backstop was still wet, and the Vigor had almost dried. The Vigor lost a lot more weight. Finally, I can tell you that the Vigor has a lot less bulk than the Backstop. In conclusion, it seems the Vigor is superior in every way to the backstop. I have used all sorts of gloves over the years: Fleece, Pearl Izumi Lobster gloves, shells and liners, neoprene... and I keep coming back to the simple midnight fleece for the best balance of warmth, dexterity, quick drying, and not cutting off circulation. My fingers still get chilly with these gloves when it is in the low 40s or below (with wind chill)... but they still are the best thing I have used in this weight class. ... show more

  • Fantastic gloves to take backpacking/camping
Color: Black Size: Medium
Got these to take backpacking. I don't need a really thick glove, Just something until I get warmed up from hiking. These gloves are amazing. Love em. I am a little biased towards OR gear tho, rightfully so, Its really great gear. I would recommend these to anyone wanting some lighter weight gloves, These are fleeced lined, very comfy and soft. And they completely block the wind from your hands. ... show more

  • Windstopper
Color: Coyote Size: Medium
These gloves do stop wind in the tops of your hands. I used these for a mule deer hunt in Montana and Nebraska and the wind was not a problem on my hands!

  • My constant glove
Color: Coyote Size: X-Large
Love these gloves. Yeah some people complain about the grip pads coming off, but they're not meant for heavy duty anything, they're like a lightweight driving glove but perfect for minimal cold weather & phone use. Cool color - looks good with brown leather shoes or boots etc...
