The media could not be loaded. Soon as I turn this one its putting heat out in 2 seconds. This puts out a large amount of heat. I'm including my porch for the winter and this is going to have no problem at all to keep it warm. Has different heat settings and even a timer if you choose to use it. The media could not be loaded. This heavy duty, solidly constructed heater radiates an incredible amount of warmth. Assembly is simple, requiring installation of the weighted base with four screws. A metal bracket is included and meant to somehow prevent covering the unit? The heater is quite heavy so the thin metal bracket certainly won't be effective as a handle. I left it off as I won't cover the heater with anything. Heater has a simple on/off switch, and three power levels of 500/1000/1500 watts can be selected via buttons on the front LED panel. You can also set the timer feature, which will turn the heat off based on the interval you desire. Switching this heater on, the center element gets red hot and the reflective metal in the housing instantly reflects an incredible amount of heat. There is no blower or fan, making this heater operation completely quiet. You can feel the heat from across the room and typical room will be warm in a very short time. I haven't used this outside yet, but I imagine it would be quite effective, especially in a sheltered area. The heater includes a simple remote control which is capable of selecting heat levels and timer function. It requires a CR2025 type battery, which I am pleased to report has been thoughtfully included by the manufacturer! So many remotes these days do not come with batteries. Why the four star rating? Please watch my video. The heater makes a rattling noise when you move it about, not advisable when in operation or hot. Upon closer observation, the rattling is coming from the heating element. Similar to an incandescent light bulb, the heater element is a metal spiral enclosed in a glass tube, with the metal element able to move back and forth tapping the glass. I can imagine that if this unit is dropped, tips over or otherwise handled roughly the element could shatter and possibly render the unit dangerous or inoperative. I plan to use this quite a bit and will update this review accordingly. To summarize, this seems very well built, with possible exception of the heating element. It quietly and instantly radiates an great amount of heat. Handled with care, it seems like it will last a long time. ... show more

The bottom part of chrome is plastic so that seems a little cheap to me. But the heater does work well so far and was easy to put together.

The media could not be loaded. This product is a nice outdoor electric heater. I can’t get the remote to work though. It does put out a nice amount of heat. However, this patio heater is not large enough to fill my patio space. My patio space is 10 x 8 and with the cool night this heater does not heat it on the other side of the room. I can feel the heat about 5 feet across the room. A blower built in would be a nice upgrade. ... show more

    • Perfect for Hanfging on The Patio on These Chilly Nights - Safe Outside Makes This a Winner
This heater that is designed to be safe outdoors as well as indoors is really fantastic. The cool nights have arrived here in Oregon and this thing came perfectly timed as I like to spend time outdoors in the evening on my patio. It came very well packed and was not too difficult to put together. The instructions are lacking so I came here to the page and was able to figure everything out. I like that the heater can be run at a low setting of 500 Watts because my wiring is not the best on the porch so that way I can keep it going without worrying about tripping a breaker. I've only used it at the high settings inside the house, but even at only 500 Watts, this thing is great at keeping me warm outdoors. It's a bit heavy to move from one place to the other. This thing has three settings you can choose from as far as the power which is great. That way you only need to run it as hot as you want to and at the same time can save some energy if you don't want to run it full blast. It seems very safe to me and I am quite pleased with it. I've wanted an outdoor heater for a while now. We love to sit out on the patio and don't always want to light the wood burning firepit if we're only going to be outside for a little while. This one works really well and heats up almost instantly. The remote works well and even the lowest setting feels super warm. It's only about 60 degrees at night right now, but will be dipping into colder temps very soon. Even though it's advertised as waterproof, we will only bring this heater outside when we plan to use it and will store it inside when not in use.
