  • Arrived on time. Better than I predicted it to be. Good price. Overall Inpressed
Style: 3.5HP 2-Stroke Water Cooling
The media could not be loaded. Used to move 14’ Jon boat. With decks and seats. Pushed it just fine across the water. No louder than a lawn mower. Fuel usage is average time for fuel used. Also it says 35:1 fuel ratio but I use the 40:1 pre mox in a can and works perfectly.

  • Terrible motor
Style: 6.5 HP 4-Stroke Water Cooling
Motor did not perform well at all, kept shutting off after running it for about 15 minutes. It would run for 10 minutes and then shut off again. Then I would need to wait about 10 minutes before running it again. I’ve had motors like these before so I know how to use them are and this is a mechanical failure. Also did not help that the reverse was broken on this. Was told I need to pay $200 to ship it back. Company did not answer any of my questions, they would reply back, saying the same thing it’s time. ... show more

  • Great until it broke
Style: 48V-1000W-4HP Jet
Overall good performance until I hit a submerged rock and broke the lower jet drive unit. Would rate very high if I could buy a replacement part for a reasonable. The ability to adjust the veritical position of the jet drive unit in the water would be a valuable added feature.

  • Does what I want it to do.
Style: 48V-2200W-8HP
Expect lots of low speed thrust, but not gas outboard type speed. I tested this on my 16,000 pound (8 ton) 33 foot Morgan Out Island sailboat, on a platform bracket that once was an Avon RIB. I didn't cast off the mooring, just went in circles around the mooring ball (this is just a test). I've had gas and electric motors on that platform bracket before and this compares favorably. I think in a straight line this motor would push the sailboat at about 4 or 5 MPH. The length of the shaft is the attribute I like most. This is about the same length as a "sail drive" gas outboard (when things get bumpy, a regular length shaft motor will have propeller cavitation) The throttle/tiller handle is unusual and looks like something off an airplane. It's aluminum alloy, strong, detachable, and it looks easy as pie to lengthen the 5 control wires for remote power control, then re-attach with 1 screw to original configuration. It's almost like they made this to be easy to do. The throttle twist is solid feeling and has a spring that wants to twist throttle back to zero. There is a green button labeled "CCS" (cruse control set?) You twist throttle to where you want it, then press the green button, and let the spring twist throttle back to zero and the motor speed stays the same until the throttle is twisted again. It came with 2 propeller sets, including pin, washer and nut in each set. The propeller looks to use common trolling motor attachment configuration and I'd bet a common trolling motor propeller would work on it if need be. The propeller has a five and a half inch radius making it a bit bigger than any other trolling motor propeller available. The propeller has twice the blade surface area than that of my 8 horsepower Mercury 4 stroke gas outboard motor *but only half the pitch. The motor bottom bulb is far larger than anything seen before, and may incite scorn and ridicule from fellow fishing tournament participants. (That propeller only a little bigger than the others, has a 1/2" flange around where it meets the tapered aft end of motor bulb, like it's trying to look inconspicuous) With the shaft hight adjusted all the way down, so motor bulb is as deep into the water as possible, give full power, and motor instantly turns at max RPM with no cavitation at propeller. This makes me think a far larger propeller can be turned before the motor boggs down. While the propeller will work great for me motoring around the dock and mooring field, I feel a "hack" of the size and pitch of the propeller as well as its trailing edge could double the overall preformince. The mounting bracket - transom clamp are larger than in Amazon pictures. I had expected to have to "hack" this expected weak point and had a gas outboard motor clamp and pivot to add on to the shaft for the strength I would want, but the product has a beefy bracket clamp that can fit on a transom 3 1/4 inches thick. DANGER! If you clamp this motor to the side of a canoe, and give it full power sideways to the mounting bracket, it will rip itself off, along with the rail, and maybe a chunk of canue side with it. It is that powerful. While the bracket is strong enough, the "clamps" compressing will not "grab" enough to prevent the motor from overpowering the compression grip by themselves (like any other outboard more than about 5 hp) I plan to drill a hole in back of bracket to put a "pin" that prevents this, like most outboards have a place for a bolt through it's bracket and the transom. The top of the motor has an aluminum housing that looks like a step-up transformer or something like that. (Have not opened the top yet, but will to apply corrosion inhibitor, looks like 6 screws from bottom) Also, I wish the tiller handle would pivot up and down. If you're looking for a "sail drive kicker" this will do that job. If you're looking to do 25 MPH on your dingy, this will not do that, until the undersized propeller is swapped out for one with more pitch and a finer trailing edge. (Possibly to keep it compatible with "trolling motors") Let the propeller hacks begin! ... show more

  • Super Quiet, Reliable, LED Display, Reverse, Adjustable Length
Loaded with features, quiet, reliable; have tested it many times. Amazingly quiet. I connected to two 100ah lithium batteries in series for 24V. Certainly much better than gas motor. Comes with extra propellor. When installing propellor, be careful not to drop and lose the little stainless steel pin. The main complaint would be that there is no product support, you are on your own. ... show more
