    • Good motor. Poor packaging broke it.
Packaging appeared to have been "reused." This I deduced by excessive tape and broken styrofoam in the box. ("reuse" is good for the planet; special care needed to protect contents) Amazon refunded--as was indicated in the listing--and as no return was required, an examination of the motor revealed a broken mounting for the brushless controller and bent brackets as well. I have-not had an opportunity to test the motor in the water, however as a product, it appears to be well designed and manufactured by Hangkai. It is listed a being "8 Horsepower," however the math works out to more like 3HP. (2200 Watts / 746W/hp) That is consistent with 48V x 50A = 2400W. Compared to an 8HP gas motor, the Hangkai should do quite well, particularly at low RPM. ... show more
