Just finished reading Our Magic Bunk Bed to my 4 year old nephew. He loved the spaceship, cowboy and airplane beds and now wants to be an airplane flying cowboy-astronaut. Great quick read before bedtime and a perfect conversation starter with him. Can beds really be magic? Did Ally really have a spell book? Encouraging children to use their imaginations is also to lead them to a creative life beyond childhood. I loved the outrageous and fun of the bunk bed trips, and also the safe landing. Loved the book.

'Eric who is 5 favorite part of the story is when they got home. Dana's (age 4 )favorite part is when Ally & Aurther are in space. Leah's favorite part was all of it!

    • Superb 9-page long children's book that I wish there were even longer!
Excellent illustration, imaginative theme and a story near and dear to my heart as I, too, had bunk beds growing up. The look on the dogs face with it's eyes bulging between the slats when the bed took off in flight together with the parents expressions in bed after being wiped out from the long day were priceless! Going immediately into my favorites! ... show more

Love the story. Actually very well written with an engaging plot. It reminded me of my bunkbed as a child and all the adventures me and my brother had. The ending was great like my boys favorite book sir knighty and the mean ugly dragon. The reason I gave it three stars was the way magic was used. Now I believe kids can have magic in their imaginations but using a spell book is a little disturbing. Especially since that stuff is something children dont need to be exposed to as something good. I know two personal friends that were sucked into looking up spells as children or had someone in their house doing that and it led to lots of problems. I wish the author had just used majic and left the spell book on the shelf. ... show more

This is a delightful story showing the creativity of young children and their vivid imaginations - something most stories lack. My girls love the adventures and now want their very own bunk beds. I love the storyline, the pictures are very well done. My twins like the adventures that Alley and Arthur go on. I think it shows a great imagination of a young child and remind me of some of my pretend days as a kid with a cardboard box. My children have a buck bed so I hope it may give them some ideas also. ... show more

This book goes inside the imagination of two siblings after their dad builds their new bunk bed. The story is written well and from the perspective of the two children. The illustrations are fantastic as well. I couldn't wait to read this to my sweet little girl because it reminded me of my siblings and I when we used our imaginations in unique ways. ... show more
