The elastic waist is tight enough to conform to the figure but stretchy so it's comfortable. The fabric is much lighter than I expected so even the full length will be comfortable in the heat I expect. For reference I am 5'1" and the hem is about an inch off the floor in bare feet, I was afraid I would have to hem it but it's perfect! You know, forever I tried to resist buying cheapo dresses on Amazon. You don't know what you're going to get, probably made by small children in a dungeon, environmental waste, etc. But I gave in and bought this dress in burgundy before taking a vacation to an extremely hot climate, and...IT'S GLORIOUS. This is now the dress I reach for before all others. I want to spend the rest of my life in this dress. It looks and fits better than anything I've ever paid real money for. It's such a flattering fit, it's true to size (you don't have to worry about it showing up half the size you thought it would be; I'm 5'2", 115 lbs and I got a small), it makes me feel like Sophia Loren, it's light as a feather, and the stretchy smocking at the waist means it still feels great after eating a meal, or when I'm bloated, it's the perfect intersection of comfort and style, and I don't have to keep tugging on it and adjusting it like with so many other dresses. And maybe fast fashion isn't environmentally wasteful if you wear it over and over for years to come? It sure is better quality than many alleged investment pieces I've bought in the past. I don’t order many clothing products from Amazon. I was skeptical but I was so excited when it fit perfectly. The fabric is lightweight but perfect for summer. I wanted to order another dress , but the print I wanted is no longer available so I am patiently .

Pleasantly surprised. The fit was perfect. Very comfortable and flowy. Didn't need a slip underneath. Paired it with a blue jean jacket for a outside wedding. Received lots of compliments. If you fall between sizes you will love this dress.

I highly recommend these dresses. I have actually purchased four of them in different colors, and I plan on purchasing more as long as the company keeps their price point at a reasonable rate as they have been doing. This is so smart of them to do this, because they actually sell more of these dresses than the ones that cost so much more. I absolutely will not buy others due to the ridiculous cost. These are made exceptionally well and are just so attractive on me. Every time I wear one I get multiple compliments, even from strangers at the grocery store. I have washed them multiple times on a cool gentle cycle and hung them to dry and they come out perfectly. The buttons are metal and the only part of the dress that I might consider changing, as the metal buttons look kind of cheap on the dark solid colors, but are not even noticeable on the ones with a printed pattern. They can be dressed up with jewelry and a pretty sweater and the material is a nice quality and cool in the summer. I actually will wear some of these as the weather cools down with a warmer sweater and some boots. I haven’t had any problems with the fabric being thin or see through. They are fine in this respect. You need to purchase one of these dresses. You won’t be disappointed. I hope that this company continues to make these and keeps the pricing reasonable, so over time I can purchase more of them in different colors. I would not do this if they hiked the price way up. It would also be nice if they had a long sleeve version of this dress for winter or even more options with short sleeves, instead of sleeveless. Thanks to this dress, I have actually felt beautiful when I wear it and that is such a great feeling. Addendum: I read some other reviews about a seam ripping in this dress. I think if you just carelessly throw this in the washer with other clothes then they will put too much tension on these areas since this dress is longer than most dresses. The material for me is perfect, but lightweight which is great for the summer. If you wash it by itself on a cold water gentle cycle and hang it to dry then it should be fine. I have worn one of mine now at least 20 times and it still looks brand new. I love it so much that I take the extra precautions to keep it perfect. I do fluff it in the dryer by itself to remove any wrinkles before I put it on. ... show more

In 8th grade, I made myself a dress that is very similar to the style of this one, so part of me feels like I am young again! The dress fits perfectly ( I am 5'4", regular size 8). Nice, soft, flowy fabric, will be great for upcoming summer!

Size M but I could’ve worn Size S easily! Time was ticking as the Hawaiian themed party was in two days! The light fabric, the vibrant colors, the roomy size for my 34D’s and the perfect length to my ankles made me feel pretty and ready to party! I got compliments too!
