Description

Color:Orange Sunset Riders looking for a low-profile lumbar pack with integrated hydration need look no further than the Seral 4. This slim waistpack features a 1.5-liter bladder with our updated high-strength magnetic coupling for improved hose management even in rough terrain. The Seral 4 has enough storage capacity for ride essentials, such as a spare tube, CO2 and multi-tool and, of course, snacks. Our bike-specific, angled hipbelt and compression straps provide stability and comfort by keeping the pack close to your body. This is created by a breathable airmesh wrap hipbelt that contours over the hipbone, Osprey's ErgoPull cross-body waist strap closure system that pulls the pack into the lumbar and side compression straps that pull the load close to your body, providing the most comfortable, secure and stable carry. Designed for riders who require hydration or gear storage while riding, but prefer the off-the-back carry and minimalism provided by lumbar packs. Constructed with PFC-free recycled bluesign®-approved nylon; a sustainable build that's tough and durable to endure years of riding.

  • Works for Paddleboarding Too
Color: Dustmoss Green
I use it during endurance paddles, typically hit it at few times before I take a break @ around 4 miles. Works great. Don't realize it's even on. Magnet holds tight. Easy to refill. To dry it out, I bent a wire clothes hanger to fit inside the bladder.

  • Great storage/hydration system for trail riding.
Color: Black
Holds wallet, phone & keys easily (plus room for a few small bike tools). The magnet holds the reservoir tube tight when riding or hiking (stays secure even through big hits). Best of all, it eliminates the sweaty back area you get when using hydration backpacks.

  • Not impressed
Color: Black
The magnet is not strong enough to hold the bite valve. This is a big problem when the tube constantly falls down when mountain biking or dirt biking. For the price, I would expect way better

  • Good pack for short to medium rides.
Color: Black
The hydration pack is a little large for the overall pack size but you can get what you need in it. Great fit and overall quality

  • Size matters
Color: Orange Sunset
The size is perfect for someone just looking to carry the bare essentials and water. It is perfect.

  • Careful packing required
Color: Black
Top quality materials and construction that you would expect from Osprey, however, this is the first time one of their packs did not exceed my expectations. It's still a good pack for its intended purpose but it wasn't quite as comfortable as I was expecting. Features are minimal. I wish it had either an exterior pocket, or a bungee cinch to secure a jacket on the back. However, it provides more storage than I anticipated for such a small pack. With the 1.5L bladder full, I was able to pack a full set tools, mini pump, spare tube, wallet, key, phone, a couple cliff bars and a light jacket, however it was difficult to zip with all that (see below for why I don't recommend loading this much). Inside, there is a sleeve for the bladder, one zippered pocket, a key clip and a little mesh pocket for either a multitool or keys. It's important to load the pack properly for it to fit correctly; otherwise, it has a tendency to slide down and ride at the top of my butt rather than sitting on my lower back. I recommend not filling the bladder more than 2/3 full (1 liter), don't over pack, only put light weight items in the zippered interior pocket, and fully tighten the compression straps to keep the weight as close to your body as possible. Even with careful packing, I had to keep the waist belt very tight for the pack stay in place on my lower back. With no hips and not much butt, a lumbar pack might not be the best solution for me; however, I like how it places all the weight on your body's center gravity and allows air to flow over your back. The included hydration bladder is excellent and well thought out. Rather than just a sack, it's formed to perfectly fit the contour of the pack, and molded such that it retains it's shape as water is drained (it's to see in attach photos than explain). The tube exits the pack below the zipper on the right side and has a magnetic clip that attaches to the left hip (not sure if this is ideal if you are left handed). The tube crosses your body along the belt and it never got in my way. The magnet seemed to be in the perfect location and strong enough that it never came loose while riding. Bite valve provides good flow and never leaked or dripped. I see myself using this for short summer mountain bike rides or as a supplement to the bottles and storage on my bike for really long gravel or remote road rides where extra water is required. Unless it's really hot, I think a hydration backpack is a more comfortable and versatile choice for me. ... show more

  • When Hydration is THAT important.... Osprey!
Color: Black
Easily the best hydration system I own. In full disclosure, I own 14 Osprey Products!!! Why? Because of what you carry with you into the deadly wilderness fails, you fail. Failure might mean death. Most likely, it will mean nature and the wilderness wins. If you follow me and read my reviews you will know that I have a great appreciation for Osprey Products and their extraordinary quality and utility, yet they always seem to be awesome looking as well! Whoever designs the look of Osprey products is about fearless fashion mastery while being keenly mindful of the heartless deadly nature of nature. The Osprey warranty is the best in the industry because it is highly unlikely you will every need it, but on the so far outside chance that you do, no matter when, you simply send it back or send a photograph of the damage and they will either repair or replace the product post haste... No matter how long we are talking about. THAT is a company that has the highest confidence in their products. Second, for full disclosure, I have not been compensated for this review, and I own 14 or more Osprey products. All that said, I did not have this particular size and design so I ordered it and WOW!! The design and function is only exceeded by the product appearance appeal! Truly exquisite design and engineering delivered perfectly in every way. This size is perfectly suited for its design and there is no wasted or frivolous space. Utterly masterful in how Osprey always seem to get it right. Funny story, my Son purchased another brand when shopping for travel gear and he asked my impression of the two products; the other brand and the Osprey product. I recommended the Osprey product and yet, my Son purchased the other big name brand. While he isn't disappointed in that product, he is VERY envious of my Osprey products, so much so that I got him an awesome Osprey backpack and an Osprey Waist Pack and he is utterly flummoxed with the extraordinary quality and design. To be honest, so am I. Any of Osprey's products solve many problems and no matter your adventure, you will get there better and happier with Osprey's solutions, this being one of their very best! If you’re balking at the price, don’t. You’ll have this forever. So will your children ... show more
