I was looking for a table to match one that I already have. I was looking for a specific height, width, and length. This matched the dimensions I needed and it looked like it would go ok with my other shelf. On it's own, I like it. It's a pretty table, and was somewhat easy to put together. As other reviews have remarked, the direction for putting it together are terrible! But if you've put other things together, you'll be okay. It took me about an hour......longer than it should have! The table is a nice medium size and the finish is clean. I gave only 3 stars for assembly because the instructions are not clear enough, and not all steps are listed. The instructions rely on the drawings which are small and cramped. I have put together a lot of furniture so I had no problem, but if you are not familiar with hardware or putting things together, you’ll have trouble. Also a Phillips head screwdriver is needed, but not provided, and there is no mention or note of where to use it. The end result looks good. Nice side table especially for the price! A little more complicated to assemble than similar items I've gotten. Solid wood and sturdy all things considered!

    • Being pressed for time I searched for something like this and simply made another table top to sit ...
It is what it is. And being a carpenter by trade. I could have spent a little more and made a similar Foyer Table , to the exact dimensions that I wanted. Being pressed for time I searched for something like this and simply made another table top to sit on top of it. A hint would be on using the barrel nut inserts would be to not tap them all the way in. As I found the holes made for the barrel nut inserts were a little deeper than they should be. Understanding that if too shallow it would make for problems but. There's the trade off in assembling the table and it wasn't until I found that turning the" lock cams" on one of the inserts would not lock I stopped an adjusted all the barrel nuts back out a half turn or so. Then it was a snap putting it together. No wobble ! and the table fir my needs and was worth the cost as time and money were not on my side. Like I said it is what it is... A nice little Foyer Table that has simple and beautiful lines to it. I would have given 5 stars ? had it not been for the barrel nut /lock cam depth. On second thought I will give it 5 stars ( smile) being that compared to more expensive Foyer Tables it was worth it . It is a simple---- and very pretty little table-- for the money. ... show more

If this was based on how much I like this little shelf, it would be five stars. I've knocked off of Star because of two things. First, the directions are not directions. There are three images. I'm a very smart person and this would have been done in about 15-20 minutes, but two times I had to remove screws and redo 1 of the tasks. The images leave it up to you in what order to do things. Second, I can't call it sturdy. It seems to be sturdy in itself, but all together it's a pretty light piece. The color of the wood is beautiful, and it doesn't look cheap. I had no issues with parts not lining up or anything like that. Everything was present and I'm very happy with it. For the price, I didn't expect it to be so pretty or as sturdy as it actually is. If you're doubting oh, I'd say just go for it. ... show more

    • Using as a desk
If you have assembled Ikea bookshelves in the past you can skip the instructions. Very easy to put together, mine is real wood not particle board, however use hand tools and don't overtighten or you may strip something as Ash is a soft wood. I'm using it as a small desk (without the Storage Shelf) behind the couch in our home theater. It is perfect for cups and controllers plus I can sit and work on my laptop while the wife plays games. Our basement furniture is all mission style so I needed to get something that matched. For me the storage shelf hit my knees so I didn't use it. You can see the holes where the screws would go if you look close but because of the supports at the bottom the shelf isn't structural. I had an old shelf kit and mounted the shelf to the wall as the finish matches the room. ... show more

Beautiful Table! As you can see in the photos, there are two missing holes , which the table top is only half on. I was willing to keep it and try to attach the top onto the base, with a good discount, but I was offered a tiny amount of $23.00 for a $117.00 item! Too bad, as I really wanted to keep it.... ... show more
