  • Noticeable difference.
Installed it on my Denon Dp-15f because it calls for a cartridge between 3 and 6 grams, and the ortofon red was 7 grams. Noticable improvement over the one that came with it. I'm new to the whole LP thing, but this needle makes me understand the appeal. If you can get over the occasional crackle here and there, it's actually a much richer sound than you can get from a digital source. ... show more

  • Choose this cartridge!
Amazing cartridge for a 40 year old turntable. It has been stored for 22 years and my bride unboxed it. It needed a new cartridge and after hitting the company website, was recommended as a direct replacement for my sansui turntable. It was installed, balanced and ready to go within an hour. We spun “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road” and the quality nearly brought me to tears. A 40 year old turntable sounded amazing with the new cartridge. Good quality, excellent product. Thanks so much! ... show more

  • Good and bad
High sounds are clear and good, but bass response is scarse.

  • Works pretty well
Didn’t quite fit into a Rotel head, but I was able to fiddle with it a bit and make it work. Sound much nicer then the original MM.

  • Not great for used records.
It has a decent boost but does not track well on older, more used vinyl. All of the pops, ticks, and imperfections are very loud even on recently cleaned records. It lacks warmth that you might want from the vinyl experience. I ended up switching back to a cheaper Audio Technica cartridge because it sounds better on most of my records. More expensive really doesn't mean better. ... show more
