  • Very good cartridges for DVS users
These are very similar to the digital versions of this cartridge the only difference that I see is the scratch cartridge seems to be a little bit more stiff compared to the scratch cartridge both sound amazing both track very well but the only thing like I said is the scratch cartridge does seem to be a bit stiffer and does not move much when backtracking ... show more

  • New Concord Design Much Better Than MK1
The main reason I got these was that Shure discontinued making M44-7 replacement stylus’s, which I was using on Technics headshells. My first cartridges were the mk1 concord style nightclubs, which sounded great, but had connection problems with some of the tonearms in club’s 1200s, also the handle was too small and thin for quickly grabbing. The new mk2 concord style has fixed these issues. My usage is 90% open format DJing and scratching on DVS, and 10% throwback vinyl sets. Comparing the sound quality to a worn M44, the low end bump was similar, the highs are nice, but that’s not apples to apples with the worn M44. The case with mounts for both is more convenient than carrying 2 large jewelry boxes. I’m satisfied with what I got for my money, but if you want to put in the time to research, you could probably get similar quality for less money. ... show more

  • 2nd to none. Shure M44-7 Replacement & Possibly Upgrade
These are it. I was skeptical at first I've been using Shure M44-7s almost since i started DJing. I had the baby blue Shure 35Cs for about a year, then i moved to The Shure M44-7s. When Shure stopped making DJ cartridges i planned on getting a 2nd pair of custom Shure M44-7s because i was skeptical of anything else. Figuring they wouldn't track as well or sound right. I'm glad I trusted what other DJs were saying as well as my gut when it came to these. The Ortofon Scratch Mk2s are no joke that's the truth. I just hoped that they would work as well as a pair of my tilted m447s & so far i don't even know where the line is. They don't skip that's all i can say so if you're a scratch DJ/Turntabilist & you use real vinyl you won't look back. I have to say i was not an early user of DVS technology. I basically had to be pulled kicking and screaming into the future by the technology. I needed to know it would work on stage or in the studio. I'm a beat maker/producer sound designer & engineer that's what I do for a living so i mostly use my turntables to lay cuts on my beats & when i'm on tour with the artists i produce. Even after Serato became the standard i still used test plates when i DJ'd because i didn't trust the technology, especially on stage. I was worried something might go wrong with the laptop or the software...whatever but once i started working with Serato & had it setup correctly i realized you could rely on the technology just like you can rely on these Ortofon Scratch MK2s to not skip/jump when you're doing your thing. ... show more

  • Work great
Put these to the test at a gig this weekend. Did some scratching and put them to work. They worked great. Tracked well. The sound was awesome through a huge club sound system.

  • Looks and sound amazing on my setup..
The sound is warm and punchy, nice weight to them, I have them set below the spec 3grm since I don't scratch just back cue and they stick like glue! The only issue I found is what most speak of... if you notice your left or right channel not playing, loosen the needle and reinsert of swap over if you have two turn tables (like I had to). After that it's a one and done. Recomended! ... show more
