Features

  • DESIGNED FOR SPEED, BUILT FOR COMFORT The ultimate big-wheel experience at a shockingly light weight! Designed for next-level commuting, long-distance pushing, long-distance pumping, and e-skate, these wheels are meant to roll. The extra-large 105mm diameter provides exceptional speed, tons of momentum, a smooth ride over rough terrain, and absurd distance per pushit's kinda like cheating. Just add risers!
  • FUNCTIONAL DESIGN The Dad Bods firm yet cush outer lip provides comfort and speed. Big wheels tend to be hard to control, so Orangatang developed new Traction Trench technology on the inner lip for carefully tuned compliance, resulting in dependable control, grip, and comfort. The bearing seat is offset so the wheel can be flipped for narrower boards. The wide, smooth contact surface increases grip, and the rounded edges prevent catching on cracks.
  • HAPPY THANE FORMULA The original Orangatang urethane formula is fast, smooth, plush, and grippy.

  • LandYachtz + Zealous Bearings + Orangatang Dad Bod Wheels = Cruise Missile.
Color: Orange, 80a Size: w/o bearings
Do Not buy the Orangatang Dad Bod 105mm Skateboard / Longboard Wheels if: 1) You want to come home in time for dinner; 2) You don't like getting a leg workout when pushing your board; 3) You don't like people screaming in horror when your board approaches; 4) You don't like floating several feet off the ground; 5) You don't like pulverizing the pavement under the weight of your gargantuan wheels; 6) You don't want to be a skateboarder's imitation of a circus Clown Car. In fact, you're probably not up to the challenge of such an enormous wheel, so don't kid yourself. In fact, don't read the rest of this review, there's nothing to see here, anyway - just stay away. Still with me? Okay, here goes: The second shock I experienced after viewing the Dad Bod on Amazon was the sticker price. $150.00 is actually the cheapest price listed anywhere on the Internet for the Orangatang Dad Bod 105mm wheel set - and I looked lots of places. The first shock was, of course, the very first look. After seeing the wheel, it was burned into my cerebral cortex, and I was unable to remove it. If you don't skate, you won't get it. But if you do, or if you aspire to skate, the first thing that goes through your mind is, "...will those actually fit my board...?" After a tiny bit of hemming and hawing, and after approximately 6 hours of delaying gratification, I ordered the Dad Bods. My bright orange, Orangatang Dad Bod 105mm wheel set arrived quickly after the order was placed. As they say, pictures do not do the wheels justice - they are MASSIVE. As in HUGE. As in HUMONGOUS. They are also very, very heavy. The wheels were wrapped in celophane packaging and arranged side-by-side in a square, which is then tucked into a plastic shipping bag. After opening the sack and revealing the Dad Bods, hefting them makes you doubt your masculinity. "How am I supposed to be able to skate these?" you ask. But, first things first - let's put them on my longboard. I thought they wouldn't fit - but they did. They mount just like any other wheel - as long as you have the board clearance for them: Pop in a set of bearings, slide them onto your axle, tighten down the nut, perform your noobie spin test, and then marvel at your big cajones. You dare to mount one of the largest sets of reputable skateboard wheels in production. But - can you actually ride it? I did, indeed. Just a few of the random boardwalk blurts I got: "Sick board, dude!" "Wow man, what size are those wheels?" "That's a big one, daddy!" "Who makes that thing?" "I like your skateboard!" And on it went. My wheel setup on the LandYachtz Switchblade prior to the Dad Bod purchase was the Orangatang Kegel 80mm wheel, which I loved. It was supple, it was tight, it was pretty. When I discovered that Orangatang made an even larger wheel - the Caguama @ 85mm, I was surprised. "I need those!" I thought to myself. Then, I discovered the Dad Bods @ 105mm - and nothing would be the same ever again. To put it bluntly, the Dad Bods make me wish I never had to stop skating. I could lie and tell you the wheels float, or that they roll forever over ANYTHING, or that they hunt and kill small animals. Instead, I will tell you the truth: These wheels just don't want to stop rolling. Once you kick - a powerful kick, mind you, because they're heavy - your board coasts. And glides. And coasts. I am managing approximately 30 - 50 feet per kick on a mildly windy day at the boardwalk. The Dad Bod wheels are not necessarily quick, but they carry an enormous amount of inertia, which makes the wheels ideal long-distance cruisers if you don't tire easily. They would also be perfect for downhill bombing runs if you're able to pivot, brake and break them free in a power slide. Dad Bod wheels are the real deal. They're sticky, and grippy, and cush-y. After awhile, you sort of forget they're there - and then you look down, and BAM! Those Day-Glo orange basketballs hit your eyes like a Babe Ruth baseball homer. Despite their size, the wheels feel nimble at speed - pushing the Dad Bods hard inspires confidence. The Dad Bods retain the same core structure as the Orangatang Kegel wheels, which is to say they have a hard plastic center structure, which is then wrapped in polyurethane. It looks simple, however the structure is anything but. Somehow, this massive wheel enables you to glide faster and longer once you put the power in. Don't they say size isn't everything? Don't belive them - they're full of crap. Bigger really is better. The Orangatang Dad Bod 105mm wheel set is all that plus a bag of chips. Believe it. I dare you to ride them. • Monster Truck Madness!
Color: Orange, 80a Size: w/o bearings
At first glance I was shaking my head saying there's no friggin way! These wheels are just massive. I tried them on a few decks with sufficient risers, but the rides were just way too high. Pushing from that high up is a real struggle. Eventually I installed them on a Landyachtz Switch 40, with 180mm RKP trucks, and they fit perfectly, no risers required! Pushing was back to good and the wheels carried a massive amount of inertia. Once you get going, they just keep on rolling. They are super smooth and track well. Once you get going, pumping is a breeze. Pros: Inertia, carries speed very well. Contact patch is narrow enough to where the overall wheel size is not overwhelming. Eats cracks, rocks, and twigs for breakfast. Works well with a drop deck. Cons: Wheel Bite! Risers, risers, and more risers. Ride is just too high with top mount decks. Pushing is a struggle from that high up. Bearings literally fall out of the core of 1 wheel (tested with Bones Swiss, Race Reds, & Zealous). For the MSRP, there should be better QC on the core/bearing issue. Overall, I'd say this is a really cool wheel. This is much more of a specialized LDP or eSkate wheel, than just an everyday cruiser wheel, so there were no false expectations on that front. From a practical point of view, there's just no way pushing these around on a standard top mount would be any fun. But, with a drop deck, or LDP deck with bracket mounts, these would excellent. 1 star discounted for the loose bearing seats in one of the wheel cores. Again, for the MSRP, you should get a proper set of quality controlled wheels. *** While I don't ride e-Skates, I suspect these wheels would be a great option since you don't have to push. ... show more

  • Comically gigantic, seriously awesome!
Color: Orange, 80a Size: w/o bearings
I underestimated just how huge these wheels would be but they work on most of my longboards. They are stupid huge but they're absolutely amazing for cruising! Cracks? LOL.... rocks? LMAO! Most obstacles are a joke to these things. I slapped these on my big 42in rayne dropdown longboard with some paris v2 trucks and jehu bearings and kept the trucks about medium tightness. People say these don't turn well. They do alright. Not sure about carving but I've seen people do it. Love em, worth it! ... show more

  • These Chonkers are Awesome!
Color: Orange, 80a Size: w/o bearings
Atlas Ultralight trucks, fireball stainless hardware, sector9 1/4" spacer, Jehu bearings, on a Loaded Ceviche. It's a little monster truck board that can easily handle rolling over stuff up to about 1/2" high without stopping. Crappy sidewalks and roads are less of an issue with these! They are heavy, so if you end up hauling your board around, be prepared. ... show more

  • Monsters
Color: Orange, 80a Size: w/o bearings
This came in free of charge through the Amazon Vine program. I’ve had no direct contact with Amazon Vine or the manufacturer and these opinions are my own. These wheels are crazy fast a roll amazingly smooth. However, you'll need a ton of clearance or a mountain of spacers to clear them. They are HUGE! If you haven't run wheels this size before make sure to triple check that they will fit. ... show more
