Ok so I replaced my center console with this black one. I have a 2011 avalanche and despised the oem one. I too had frustration with the new one and read different ways to remedy it. Such as belt sanding, grinder, etc. This is what worked for me.. there are 4 clips. Insert the tray without cup holders. You will notice that it just doesn't fit like we think it should but HERE IS THE FIX.. Take your fist and pound it at the place of each of the 4 clips. I promise you this works.. you won't damage anything. Give it a good smack like you would pound on a desk lol. ... show more

Fit and finish appears to be OE quality. Fits perfect and doubles your cup holder capacity. Super easy to pop the old one out and install the new one

I bought this for my 2009 chevy avalanche. It said it was not compatible but the mounting points and shape of it looked the same as my factory one. The factory one has 2 cup holders and a very small storage pocket. So this is a nice upgrade. It doesn't fit perfect and I will have to trim the outside edge a small amount to make it fit flush but seems worth it to me. Seems very sturdy and made from a strong plastic. I dislike my own judgment based on what I needed exactly. I already had the black tray that comes underneath. I only needed the cup holders. So now I just have an extra tray, but the cup holders fit directly into the tray that I already have. I haven’t used them yet but they seem to be ok.
