I've always had Oneida flatware in my life. :) It's what my mother picked out when she got married and what I picked out when I got married. It's heavy duty and very durable. My mom's flatware is over 60 years old, mine is over 30 years old. This flatware did not disappoint. I ordered it for my daughter who is in college and we liked it well enough to order another 20 piece set. It is 18/0 gauge rather than the 18/10 of mine and my mothers. This means it doesn't have any nickel so it is a little less durable, a little less shiny and less corrosion resistant. I still think it was a great value and will more than adequately serve the purpose of my daughter's first flatware. She loved the pattern too. I don't have proof that it is less durable, but did take one star off the durability category after researching 18/0 vs 18/10 on line. ... show more

This is a set of silver ware. Included are long spoons, short spoons, long forks, short forks and knives. Quality looks pretty good. Unlike some cheaper cutlery, the handles are smooth so they don't dig into you hand when you are trying to cut tough foods. It's a very comprehensive set that looks nice. Price is good. ... show more

Beautiful box of Oneida 18:0 flatware for four standard place settings. Would make a really nice gift. I like the hammered steel pattern because it could blend in well with other silverware you have. It actually looks much nicer in person (my camera could not capture the subtlety of the pattern, sorry). We've been using Oneida for 40 years. They were a gift from my mother-in-law, but over the years there's been attrition regarding several pieces (small forks and spoons). Our pattern is no longer made. I like this pattern because it has a nice feel to it, but they are larger than we are used to. I like that the fork tines are not too wide. The spoons would make good serving spoons. They seem to wash (hand or machine) well with no staining. Made in China. Oneida is still my choice of flatware. Good value.
