I bought these mattresses for some bunk beds I was making and I wanted good quality mattresses with steel springs - not just layers of foam. When they arrived, I was quite surprised to see the small boxes that showed up (still about 48 pounds each mind you) as shown above. When unpacking, I found the mattress somehow compressed and rolled up to fit in that box! Once you puncture the inner bag (shown above - see knife to left). the bag inflates and so does the mattress! Once all the excitement has passed (for me anyhow) the mattress is very comfy and holds its shape well - which is what I was looking for. These are new for me so I can't comment yet on longevity but they are well-made and I expect them to last quite a while. Definitely recommended! ... show more

Pleasantly surprised at the comfort and support of this mattress! I have purchased expensive mattresses over the years that cost 1-2k , they always were either too firm (and I woke without any restful sleep) or initially comfortable/soft for about a year, then end up with zero support! (and I end up in a center dip which is so uncomfortable and no support for my joints) I was so fed up spending thousands on marked-up garbage merchandise that I decided to try a less expensive option and wow am I glad I did, what a pleasant surprise! couldn't be happier! This mattress for under $200 (plus belle terre mattress topper I purchased for $76 on cyber sale), together are MORE comfortable AND SUPPORTIVE than a 1k mattress I bought a year ago that ended up being so uncomfortable from lack of support after just one year! After only a week or so, my husband and I realized that we could feel the springs beneath us and also with our touch across the mattress surface. I made this mattress purchase in go od faith believing in Amazon as a reliable and fair company as I have been shopping here for 25years now and have always received great service.
