The functionality of the light is very good. The multiple settings / modes is great, use time is good, and the quality is solid. Where there are some challenges and considerations for me are: - It's not super bright (for a "street light"). I use it as a utility light mounted on a post, and that is fine, but in comparison to an actual civic streetlight, it pales in comparison. Great for a section of yard or a porch. - The post the it mounts to has only one securing hole. Technically this is adjustable the entire 2' length of the extension post, but there is only one set of bolt holes at the extreme end so, it could and would twist at anything less than that. For me, I want the the adjustability, so I am modifying it to use a tension set knob.- Mounting kit is not small diameter (2") round post friendly. This seems to assume flat mounting only, though there is a clamp plate. It could use more options IMO. - The last thing is the labeling. The device has a big banner proclaiming "Made in the USA", but there is another sticker attached stating "Made in China". Which is it (see attached image). ... show more

The cool thing about amazon vine is I can order multiple items that are similar. I ordered this and the Avoben 600W and installed both in different parts of my yard. Had I not been able to compare the two, I would have been happy enough with this one. But, the Avoben is just better and about half as much. This is supposedly 1000W; I don't know what that's a measure of, but it's sure not related to the brightness. It's the same brightness as the 600W Avoben. Also, it's mount isn't as good; it's a metal rod that has a bolt through the plastic to secure it in place. I'm in the high desert; I give it two years before the plastic is brittle and I find it on the ground. The Avoben uses a metal clamp (that doesn't do a great job from preventing it spinning, but at least it's not putting stress on plastic.) Also even though this thing has a 'made in the USA' stamping (and ridiculous patriotic sticker), if it was made in the US, it must have been made by illiterate people because the instruction are crap and in broken English. This and the Avoben both last all night, in winter, when it's cold af, so in that respect they're equal. But the biggest reason this one is a 'meh' is the motion detector. I wanted a light that would turn on when someone walks by - this one doesn't do that. It's just kind of on and only gets brighter if you use the remote (which is more intuitive than the Avoben btw, despite the poop instructions). Maybe mine is defective, I don't know, but again, the Avoben one just works better, despite it's not as great remote. And the Avoben is like half the price. So yeah, save yourself some cash and don't get this one, get the Avoben one. ... show more

    • Well-Made, Bright, Lights Up Wide Area, But Expensive

This solar street light is quite heavy, seems solidly made, and easy to install. The hardware that comes with it supports it well. It has more functions than necessary for a solar street light, in my opinion. One of the things I like about it is that the light panel is slightly slanted to the left and right. This produces a wider area of brightness than a typical street light that shines straight downward. Due to this design, there's less light concentrated in one area. As a result, it's not that super bright as described. I used a light meter and placed it about one foot from the light panel, and it only registered slightly above 1000 lux. However, I find this solar light fits my purpose rather well since I need a wider area of coverage for my backyard. One annoying thing about this light is that it sticks pretty far out when mounted because the extension post only has one mounting screw hole at the end instead of multiple holes to make it length-adjustable. However, I think it could be modified by drilling more holes. Last point, this solar street light is best mounted such that the solar panel faces the sunlight directly for optimal charging due to the design. Overall, it works like it's supposed to, albeit not super bright. ... show more

Installation is easy and no wiring needed. Give it a day in the sun and you have good light at night. Motion sensor works as it should and you have about 6 to 8 hours of light.

This was the best buy we could have made for our back side of the house, this is where we used to have kids hibernate and hang out, this installed very easily and quickly, you have several settings and with the remote you can change things up as you may need to. it is very brite and when you have no way to get power Solar is a great feature. so far the battery has lasted and we like that with motion detection our problems are solved. people don't like it when you put light on the subject! ... show more

Easy to install but I used my own lag bolts to Mount to my wall. It is really big so I would install at your own risk if you have an HOA. I am not a fan of the flag design at the bottom but mainly because I’m really particular about the decorations around the house. This light up my entire walk way to the back of the house. Even just at 30% it still provides a lot of light. I haven’t been able to get the motion setting to work well. It stays at 30% when I try but it might be user error. It got dark on me so I’ll deal with it when I come back in town from vacation and call Support if needed. Overall I am really pleased because I can take out the trash or walk to the backyard with some light. ... show more
