  • Excellent purse!
Color: Red
I’ve had this purse for a little over a month and I’m still in love with it! Pros: 1) The interior is huge! Both pockets (separated by the middle one) are perfectly sized. Not so massive that you lose everything in the abyss and not so tiny that it’s difficult to get anything in them. The front portion has pockets for your phone, pens, chapstick/lipstick and any other small misc items. The backside has a zipper portion (aka the tampon pocket) that is quite large and you can fit a lot of items in there without it bulking out. 2) The interior middle pocket is padded and very sturdy. Unlike most bags with this “feature”, it’s not a piece of flimsy, annoying fabric, but a solid barrier between the two main pockets with ample interior space. An Ipad, cell phone, kindle and electronics around those sizes (maybe a small laptop?) would fit perfectly and be protected. I keep my extra makeup, kindle and sunglasses in mine. 3) The liner is incredible. Most of my past purses had issues with the liner tearing away from the main structure of the bag, fraying or ripping in random spots. I do not imagine this happening with the OGIO, unless I took a knife and repeatedly stabbed the liner or something. 😂🤷🏻♀️ If you rip this liner somehow then you need to re-evaluate how you treat your purses because this seriously feels indestructible. 4) The little pocket under the front flap with the buttons seemed pointless and really hard to get to at first. Then it clicked in my brain that this is a bag for traveling and that it’s likely for a passport or something along those lines. It’s about the size of a passport or most wallets and to access it you have to undo each button (which takes a minute), flip the flap up then unzip the pocket to get to the inside. Being that it’s hidden too, I doubt most thieves would even know it existed and if they did, probably wouldn’t even bother with it and move on to easier prey. Pretty smart in my opinion! 4) Exterior material is as advertised. If someone is trying to cut the bag to steal your stuff they’re gonna have a bad time. Also, any dirt that gets on it can be easily dusted off and doesn’t leave behind any residue or stains. 5) I purchased the red one and it’s extremely vibrant! I’d say a hair brighter than the photo on Amazon. Cons: 1) If you have something small and loose in either of the two main pockets it might get lost down by the middle compartment. There is a small gap (chapstick/lighter size) where the middle pocket connects to the main liner and things may roll down there and get tucked in. It might be because I don’t have anything heavy in that pocket so it’s not expanding all the way down, or the purse is still breaking itself in, I’m not totally sure, but it does happen. In the end it’s not a big deal. I only mention it because I kept accusing my co-workers of being lighter thieves when all the while they were nestled in that little groove. 😬😂 2) No key clip! I have no idea why they didn’t include one of these! I love those things because I hate digging for my keys. ☹️ I ended up buying a key hook thing to solve this but unfortunately the zipper area at the top is very wide and I couldn’t get the hook to stay put. Haven’t come up with another solution beyond that. 3) The strap is comfortable, and even though it looked weird at first, the wider strap really seems to displace the weight extremely well and doesn’t make my shoulder feel like it’s carrying around a ton of bricks. I also like the length...mostly. It will be perfect for crossbody use in the warmer months for sure, but it’s winter now and I live in an area that gets pretty brutal winters and I am constantly bundled up in several bulky layers. Because this isn’t an adjustable strap I can’t extend the length to get it comfortably over my hat, scarf, hood and coat with out feeling like it’s choking me. It can be done but I look and feel like an uncomfortable weirdo. Overall, this is a pretty great bag and one that seems like it will last a very long time. If I could I would remove half a star, but since I can’t and this does not deserve to lose a whole star it keeps the 5 rating. Absolutely recommend this purse! I’ve attached a few photos as well. The little bags are pencil cases and hold makeup and my collection of chapsticks and lip balms. ... show more

  • Strap is too short to be crossbody.
Color: Black
I've read other reviews with complaints about bags being too short. I'm 5'9" and thought I saw that this one is longer (cross-body). However, this one is too short and not adjustable. I bought it for a trip to Europe but didn't even use it. Maybe because I'm busty? Idk. The zipper/ opening hits just below the chest. Awkward to access. I need a crossbody that hits the hip. I've attached 2 pics. One shows where it hits. The other is laying beside the bathroom sink (for size perspective). ... show more

  • Perfect
Color: Black
I have a shoulder injury and needed a lightweight and comfortable every day bag. Cross body is great because it keeps pressure off my shoulder. A friend recommended this bag and I am so happy she did! The strap is wide and comfortable. I don't use the padded pouch, so I could do without that. But still enough room for essentials and extra hat/gloves and some kid related stuff. No dedicated key hook, but I have my keys on a carabiner and they fit on the strap well. I read the reviews and many people mention that the strap is too short. I like the length. I think it's perfect. Long enough I can easily access the pockets, short enough it doesn't flop around as I walk. I got the black and it is a soft matte black, which is great. I was worried it would be jet black and shiny. I am attaching a pic for size and strap length reference. I am 5'5", average build. Plenty of room even over a sweater and thick fleece. ... show more

  • Comfortable, cute and durable.
Color: Black
I love it! I had been looking for a cross body with a wide strap for comfort. This is perfect! I don't know if machine washing is recommended but I have twice & it came out looking new again. However, it is not recommended for carrying people ; p

  • I HAVE more than one now!
Color: Red
I am finally updating this review after owning more than one of these bags for more than a year. I cannot say enough good things about this bag! There is only one fault - I still believe the only fault in the original design is that there is no dedicated key fob inside. I have tried many permutations of attachments for my keys since this first review (with photos of the modification) and have yet to figure out a way to carry all of my keys without them falling to the bottom of the bag or totally getting in the way at the top. I realize that this is an issue only because I carry lots of keys on different carabiners rather than it being a true fault of the bag, though! Don't let my one complaint deter you, though. Key issue aside, I truly believe this to be my bag soulmate. I have been carrying a black one now for over six months as my daily carry bag to my new office job and there is never a day that goes by that I can't fit everything I need to take to work - except my lunch and my laptop - in this bag. I tend to be a person who carries lots of devices, cords, toiletries, and, obviously, keys, in my bag. Even carrying two or three devices and all of my other stuff, I can still fit a couple of snack bars, gloves, a knit cap, or anything else my heart desires into this bag without it looking overstuffed or not zipping. The zippers have given me no trouble and that little outside zipper pocket which is hidden under the flap has been incredibly useful for carrying things to which I need quick access like lipgloss or money for tolls. It has also been helpful for carrying my ID and boarding pass when I have flown. I have pretty large hands, and I can still reach inside that pocket and get to the bottom of it to find things. So there has never been a need for me to unbutton the flap in all this time that I have owned this purse. Having carried the red bag in the black bag almost exclusively, and having purchased the blue bag last year sometime, I have now actually started lending and giving away this bag to other women because I know it is so fabulous and I want them to try it. Currently, my best friend has borrowed my red one (I am about ready to buy her a black one so I can get my red one back!), and I my boss from my previous job my practically-new blue one with the polka dot lining. I hardly ever used it because I rarely wear blue. Of course, I am using these "acts of good will" as an excuse to buy more and different colors of this bag for myself! Two of the bags I have had were with the 2014 polkadot lining. At first, I did not like that lining but it really grew on me. The light color made it very easy to see into the bag and find things that had gone to the bottom. (Though to be honest, because of the multitude of pockets in this bag items rarely do fall all the way to the bottom. Except keys.) The 2015 lining, which is a very pretty black and white chevron pattern, makes it a little harder to see into the bag. However, the black purse with the black-and-white lining looks really classy! That is about all I can think of to update. I hope that you will read the other positive reviews and realize that they outweigh the negative ones. This is a sturdy, useful, nice-looking bag. I hope now to gather enough versions and colors of it that I have one for the rest of my life! ********* Original review follows: I wish the manufacturer had more pictures of this bag on this product page. I have posted some, and of the modification I did to it. I bought it based mostly on the good reviews rather than knowing at all what the inside of it was like. (I just saw today that other product pages for the same bag, different colors -- OGIO International Brooklyn Purse Sling Bag -- have more photos.) Turns out, it might just be perfect for my needs. I've only had it one day, but so far, so good. It's a great size, fairly lightweight even when stuffed to the gills, and the strap is not a bad length for me (I am 5 foot 4). I bought the red, and am seriously considering buying it in another color. I have spent years searching for "the perfect bag" and this... this might be it. (shivers!) I am downsizing from a fantastic and well-loved Osprey FlapJill laptop bag that had basically become my go-to bag because every other smaller bag I have didn't have enough pockets. Everything including my keys and phone would continually fall to the bottom of the bag, and that just made me mad. Since I no longer routinely carry a laptop around, I, like another reviewer, wanted a smaller bag that didn't scream "I have electronics in here!" I am a woman who carries everything in her bag, too. Need a snack bar? I probably have it. Need something cut or a bottle of wine opened? I have a pocket knife. Bandaid? Something to read? Covered. This bag has pockets in all the right places for all the crazy stuff I carry, more than one way to carry the tablet, and enough room that if I want to stuff it full, I can. I posted a picture of the bag, full; the pad is not in the middle compartment, however; I use that for all my little things like chargers and headphones. I love that it has a long, zippered compartment in the back, too, for things I don't use often but don't want to lose. One complaint I have so far, and it's a big one, is I didn't find a key fob inside. (If there is one I have missed, please, someone, reply about it). I ended up making my own. One side of the bag has a longer edge, and that edge, where the zipper meets the strap. is the perfect place for a small, zippered, outer pocket for phone or keys (ahem, Ogio!). To use that space, I sewed a small ring on the seam inside, to which I can attach my keys via a carabiner. I have a picture of that as well. The other complaint I have is that I wish the zipper was actually double-sided, so it could close anywhere along the zipper rather than having to zip it all the way from side to side. The way I hacked the key fob, though, having the zipper pull close up that side works beautifully. Some reviewers have noted that the front zipper pocket, behind the buttoned strap, is basically useless. I have to agree there, though you can reach up under the short side of the flap to access it. I only keep some small things I don't need all that often in there, like cough drops and business cards. Unbuttoning the buttons is a hassle, and the purse doesn't look as awesome with them undone. It sure seems secure from prying hands, though. The only other improvement I might make to this bag, were I to take it traveling, is run a steel cord through the strap so it becomes uncuttable. That way, it might be a great bag to take overseas in addition to every day. I will update the review as I use the bag and test its limits. Pros: Great medium size for people who carry a lot of stuff; well-padded tablet pocket, enough pockets for small items, great color Cons: No key fob, could use a double zipper, front pocket not easily accessible ... show more
