These are great little room fresheners! I use regular Damprid to help absorb moisture in bathrooms and closets and have been a big fan since I first learned about them in property management. I'm not sure that this freshener impacts moisture like the other Damprid does but it definitely works for making a room smell good! This uses carbon to soak up any foul smells, lol, and leaves a nice Lavender Vanilla smell in its' place. It's soft enough that you don't notice it like a candle or glade plug-in, unless you put your nose up to it. Even then it's not too sweet and my husband agrees, it's quite pleasant. I try to stretch them out a bit by cutting the top sticker in half and for the first few weeks only exposing the filter half way. When that side has begun to try out, then I'll remove some more or the rest of the sticker, depending on how strongly I want to use it next. Haha, this works well for us anyway. These usually last around six-plus weeks and I have a tendency to move them around, haha... A week in the closet where our hampers sit, a week under the kitchen sink where the trash sits, a week under the driver's seat, etc. It eliminates any stale smells and the fresh smell lasts longer than the usual car freshener, even after it's been removed. This works great. I work in an auto shop and my after work smell tends to stay in the car. I shampoo my carpet once a quarter and have re shampooed it several times. Same thing with my leather seats and the odor always returns. I left this odor eater in my car over night and the stink is gone. We'll see how long it lasts. The only thing I don't like is the fragrance reminds me of a bathroom. I don't want my car to smell like a bathroom. It's better than working man stank, though. ... show more

I've used it in my car since I bought it brand new 10 months ago. My first Odor Genie probably lasted 9 months before I had to replace it. With that said, the lavender scent does weaken after the first few weeks but it is nonetheless still there. I think people are mistaking this as a stereotypical car freshener that emits a strong Hawaiian scent that reminds you of vacation or something along those lines. The purpose of the Odor Genie is to deodorize the space and leave a very mild, pleasant scent behind in its place. It is not advertising itself as a car scent replacement. I think for the purpose of deodorizing, it's done a great job. My car never smells from keeping takeout in it from lunch or any other typical smells that populate the car. If you're looking to stretch out the life of the product, you can peel back the sticker tab ~1 inch and snip it off. Cut off more and more of the sticker protectant on top to slowly expose the inside to make it last longer. Effects are the same and you can use it for a long time! ... show more

Decent product. I was using it in a closet that had a old cigarette smell. The product gave off a good scent but the cigarette smell still was faintly present. If the scent from this air freshener was stronger it might have been better. Good for removing more recent odors but kind of eh for baked in very aged smells. ... show more

These odor genies are really great. I use them all over my house. They are especially useful inmy drawers where clothes can start to smell musty if they are not rotated with wear often enough. I have them in my linen closets, i have one in my pantry, i have one in the mudroom near the shoe storage bin. As you might guess, I do not like common every day odors and I choose to eliminate them as opposed to covering them up with fake smells. I do, however, this lavendar scented one it is very faint smelling, not overpowering at all. Another good place to use this is in your car. I have one in the back floorboard to soak up any odors from that stray bit of food that might fall between the cracks afyer a long road trip. It works great! I also have them hidden behind each toilet in each bathroom in my house and I love them there as well. I love this product. ... show more

I live full time in an RV, and always have one of these opened in the rig. Small spaces get stinky super quick. I can not stand the smell of household plug ins and just needed something to keep the shoe and trash stink down. These are my go to! They last easily for 3 to 4 months, do not have a strong masking order and keep the rig smelling like a house and not a perfume store. I've been using them for years now. I tried a different brand once and did not get the same results as I did with these. I like the lavender, but have zero problems with the others. If I ever decide to move into a house, I'll use em there too. ... show more

Amazing product, I found one left in a truck. I started using it myself and it's been smelling great for months now. I can't remember exactly how long it's been working and since I am not sure, lets just say, way more than 60 days. My search for car and bath freshener is over. I've tried them all and they all last a day, a week at the most. Total rip offs. You get what you pay for and a whole lot more with Odor Genie. Revision: Not sure whats going on here. However; I bought 3 more of this product opened and placed one in my bathroom and nada, zip, nothing, no smell at all. Your guess is as good as mine. I will place it in a car and see what it does. I stand by my original review based on the first one that was used, yup that one still smells great! The only way you can smell a thing from this new one is to bury your nose in it. Quality control issue? Who knows I have 2 more different sents on the way before I change my star rating, lets see if they work. ... show more
