Description

Hauntingly reminiscent of weathered tombstones in a cemetery, these cakelets will steal the show this Halloween. The detailed design of each one is baked right into the cake. No decoration is necessary, but if you must, a simple dusting of powdered sugar or a brush of thin glaze will make these irresistible. Great for cake and brownies, creepy and whimsical all at once, these spirited cakelets are designed to stand on end and create a life-like graveyard scene at the table. An eerie graveyard centerpiece scene, for ghoul and goblin guests to devour. Made in the USA of durable cast aluminum with premium nonstick coating for a lifetime of baking enjoyment. Use and care: Before initial use and after subsequent uses, hand wash with warm, soapy water. Extended soaking is not recommended. Before each use, brush with butter or shortening and dust with flour or cocoa to coat. Baking spray containing flour may also be used. Do not use regular cooking spray. Mixes and recipes may vary. Fill the pan no more than 3/4 full to avoid overflow. Metal utensils, scouring pads and abrasive cleaners should not be used on nonstick surfaces.

I greased the pan and then the Brownies were done I let the pan col down for about 30 minutes. The brownies came out perfect and the pan came out clean, no mess. I love the detail of each gravestone. Quality product. A little labor intensive to use but once you get the hang of it it was really fun. My son and his wife and I made them for their adult halloween party and people "raved about them" (taste wise and the look) according to them. I would definitely make them again. The only recommendation I would have after making these is that you definitely don't need as much pastry as it says in the recipes on line. Otherwise there's just too much dough. I almost returned this pan. The pan has an attached light weight cardboard "semi-collar" which has a recipe and care instructions. The only problem is that this collar is attached with three huge gobs of glue. Even using 170degree water from our hot water dispenser I was unable to get off all the glue. I feel that someone somewhere took great pleasure anonymously using all that glue instead of just a small drop or tape. I can't wait to smell the burning glue coming from the oven. ... show more

I purchased this pan specifically for our family Halloween party. I already a pan with skulls that I got the year before so I wanted another Halloween themed pan but not another skeleton variety. I thought the tombstones would be fun and look good without frosting. This pan did just that. It was perfect for my black cocoa cake recipe (made about 3 cups of batter). I just used a baking spray with flour and the cakelets easily came out. If it stuck a bit, I gave it a little nudge with a bamboo skewer to help it pop out. The design imprint came out nicely. This is the 3rd baking pan I've bought from Nordic Ware. Yes, all Halloween themed bake ware. So far, I have no complaints at all! I'm a very happy man. 20 years ago things like this were only novelty, if it worked the one time, you were lucky! So imagine my surprise at the durability of this bake ware! They are so easy to clean, there's no need to even ask if they are dishwasher safe (although the are.) You can simply quickly hand wash them as easy as rinsing them to put in the dishwasher. So far I've only made pizza puffs a few times but the shape is awesomely fun. All of my friends have asked how I did it. So many possibilities of things to make using these pans!
