This is a great beginners kit, for starters you will need to acknowledge that oil paint does not dry as fast as acrylic or water colors. It will take several days to dry. It’s definitely a learning curve BUT this kit is nice. The paint consistency is like higher quality brands. You will need more than just this kit though like a medium such as linseed oil to make the paint blend better and it can speed up drying time and paint thinner to clean the brushes. I would also recommend to pick up a kit of brushes because the brushes in this are not the best. This will get you started enough to learn what you need and what you like. ... show more

I really love this set, it comes with a variety of different colors, the pallete is a metal and not cheap plastic so it’s easy to clean! I really have not found a paint set that is reasonably priced and still worth it but this one is! One tip though if you decide to get oil paints is get a medium like turpentine. It’s not included in this set.. but yeah I’m really glad I made the choice to buy this in quarantine 10/10! And the package came faster than expected! ... show more

It's a good start. You will definitely have to buy more paint and other accessories too. I also suggest eventually buy a large wood pallet as well. I recommend watching tutorials on YouTube and other apps. Very helpful!

Great value! Lots of colors, and a variety of brushes. I'm not sure why, but they even include watercolor sponges. If you're just starting or are a shut in rolling up your last tubes, this is a great choice. They even have oddball colors, not kooky or anything, but pre-mixed flesh tone, for example, isn't something you find in a standard set. What's interesting about the set is the brushes, which are high quality for a great price. Highly recommend. ... show more

    • AAL Oil Paint Set...Has everything needed to start painting, a small picture
This would have been great had it come in a box for traveling. But I like the tray: it's easy to clean if cleaned right away. The tubes of paint are very small, so the basic colors used will run out quickly. But, as a starter set, this is very nice. The only thing I dion't like is that it comes in a thin cardboard box and the paints slide out of place very easily, which is why a sturdy box would have been nice. ... show more

    • Not a Bob Ross set, also cheap
I thought this was going to be a good set for a Bob Ross tutorial but I ended up needing a lot of materials that weren’t in this kit (fan brush, liquid white, painting knives, etc.) also the colors aren’t the same as the ones Bob Ross uses (example, thelo blue or green) I wouldn’t knock the set down as it isn’t advertised as a Bob Ross set, however the brushes were falling apart. The more I use them the less they seem to fall apart though so that’s good. Also make sure you have paint thinner or some sort of oil to clean them afterward. I used baby oil bc it was all I had and it worked amazingly, but I hear any oil will do. Dish soap also worked especially for my skin/nails that had paint on them. I also used wax paper to put my paint on because it’s sooo hard to clean the palate (which will happen with any oil paint. I have 3 stars bc most of these issues aren’t the sellers fault. The only thing really is the cheap brushes. You for sure need better brushes if you want to paint like Bob Ross. I’d recommend just starting with a 2 inch brush, a painting knife, a few fan brushes, and the oil paints that he uses (which Id have to google) ... show more
