  • Outstanding day pack that works well in the 35L system!
We have become huge fans of Nomatic products. This is a clever day-pack that works well when you travel with the larger 35L backpack. It fits into the top compartment and you can take it out of the larger backpack, unfold it and load it with a smaller camera set-up when you don't want to carry a massive backpack while you check out the sights and the neighborhood. We found this bag is too big to fit in the top compartment of the 25L. Well-made and sturdy. We wish you safe travels and great adventures! ... show more

  • Awesome bag!!!
The bag is amazing. I purchased a Peak Design sling 6L and the Nomatic to compare for my lumix S5 and I can say, this bag is a lot better. With the PD I had just enough room to fit my camera and a few accesories but with the nomatic bag, i can fit a ton of stuff. It is versatile so I can just use the cube and I added the Peak design straps to use it as a sling or I use it as a fill bag and it fits my Lumix S5, extra batteries and accesories and ij the bar itself I can fit my 15 inch MacBook pro with some extra stuff (not that protective but it fits) ... show more

  • Perfect fit for the Peak Design 45L Travel Backpack + Sony A7IV w/ attached Sony 70-200 GM II lens!
I found the NOMATIC McKinnon Camera Cube to be an incredibly versatile option for my Peak Design 45L travel bag, thanks to its nifty daypack conversion feature. I was pleasantly surprised to see it comfortably fit a full-frame mirrorless camera with my 70-200 GM II lens. It's sized similarly to PD’s “small” camera and storage cubes (1/3 of the space), which leaves ample room for a medium storage cube. This setup makes for the ultimate one-bag travel experience. As a one camera + one lens type of traveler, this cube has been a game-changer. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a compact, efficient travel photography solution! ... show more

  • Brilliant
I didn’t realize until seeing this bag that it’s exactly what I needed for being able to carry a minimal set of camera gear or drone in a protected and organized way while still having room for jacket etc. for a hike or outing. And I love that the backpack part folds up into such a tight space to use the bag as an inset in another bigger bag. Brilliant! On top of all that, the quality is great and looks really sharp. Couldn’t be happier. ... show more

  • Bought this hoping for the perfect hybrid of two essentials, but ended up disappointed
I came across this product during a Black Friday sale on Nomatic gear, and had already been in the market for a new portable backpack and camera cube setup, so I'd hoped this would be the magic solution I was looking for. In theory, the design is actually pretty genius, and the quality of the camera cube is great. That said, the cube was just slightly too big to fit in my main (larger) backpack, meaning I'd have to pack it inside of my checked bag or carry-on. The fact that a mini backpack unfolded from nowhere seemed like some sorcery, and while it worked great in theory, the actual ergonomics and comfort left a lot to be desired. It felt too small to carry much more than a few snacks, and lacked any organization / pockets. I also felt like I always had to have my camera on me too, which wasn't ideal. I ended up returning this item to get a standalone packable backpack (that could be used without a camera cube) and a separate smaller camera cube that could fit both in that backpack, as well as my other backpack without issues. ... show more

  • Good strap, one minor issue.
I really like this bag! Fits my Nikon Z6 and a couple lenses plus some clothes for a two day trip or so. It's been pretty durable so far. I've thrown it around in vehicles, it's spent time on the forest floor, on dirt roads, on chips of wood, etc, and still looks new. No splits or rips to be seen. The only thing that I would change would be a strap when it's in the pouch mode. As is, you only get carrying straps when it's folded out as a backpack, but sometimes you just want to take it out to a park sometime and have no need for the extra space, so it would be nice if they had a detachable strap that you could attach for that. ... show more

  • Great daypack
This has fulfilled all of my needs for a decent daypack with photography in mind. I primarily bought it because of its blank slate space in the top compartment to put whatever I need inside (jacket, travel book, chargers, etc) Pros: - collapsible feature is super nifty and intuitive - was successfully able to put a 15” MacBook Pro in the top compartment for an emergency (it was janky and really pushing it, but it fit) - blank slate storage capacity for all of your daypack needs - fits a Sony a7r with a 70-200 oss ii in the bottom compartment, with space for one more lens - doesn’t look like a photography bag Cons: - it’s easy to overpack and make the pack too heavy for the small straps - said straps dig into your shoulders and you can really feel it halfway through a day - quick access to bottom compartment isn’t a thing, and requires you to have a decent surface to balance your pack on. A heavy topside can tip the bottom compartment a little bit if you’re not careful Overall I highly recommend this pack if you’re looking for something small, flexible, and Lowkey for your daypack photography needs ... show more
