Top Amazon Reviews

  • High quality at a high price. Looks great on the Ultra 2. Buy on sale if possible.
I've got a few bands for my newish Apple Watch Ultra 2, but most of the time I wear a knockoff "Nike" style perforated silicone band so I don't have to switch bands to work out or do yardwork. It's a "pin-and-tuck" black band with Day-Glo yellow accents in the perforations. It's comfortable and works fine, but could be more stylish for when other people can actually see me. It's also beginning to get a little shiny, which I think indicates it's taking some UV damage. It cost maybe $2 here on Amazon. Looking for something in the same vein but made better, I didn't like the looks of the few real Nike bands you can still find, which for some reason now come only in a "splatter paint" design. Nomad makes this pin-and-tuck style with wider, oval "pins" and heavier-duty material. All of its bands come highly recommended everywhere you look, but they're expensive. I think this is their cheapest style, and the normal price is $60 with very rare, small discounts. Steep for a polymer band no matter how nice. Then came Prime Day, and this band, in a color I like was marked down to just under $50, with another 20% coupon on top for this color only. I paid $42 I think. I bit and I'm glad I did. Likes First impressions This band comes in a heckuva fancy box, lovingly strapped into place in a three-part, heavy-duty display box. At least part of this "fancy" brand's price clearly goes into packaging. Looks It's handsome for this type of band -- much cooler in my opinion than even the "real" Nike bands in this style. Some bands marketed for the larger Apple Ultra watches are extra wide, which I suppose is meant to look "tougher," but I didn't want that. The width here looks just right to me, and doesn't constrict my wrist. The color is a little hard to discern online, but "Coastal Rock" is a pale bluish green in a matte finish. It can look more gray or more green in different light. It manages to look subdued enough not to be outrageous without being boring black and should look fine with most clothes. I like it. Material/build quality This type of synthetic rubber material is great for a watch you intend to wear exercising or boating or fooling around outdoors (which I do) because it's tough and completely sweat/waterproof. Nomad says it uses the best "FKM fluoroelastomer rubber" material, claimed to be especially durable. The feel of the material at least suggests this is true. No rough edges anywhere, including on the heavier-than-typical buckle portion and the beefy, oval-shaped aluminum pins. The whole band is perfectly smooth and subtly sculpted on each surface. To the extent a resin band can shout "quality," it does. Comfort Compared to the knockoff Nike band, it's noticeably thicker, and a bit heavier, but very comfortable. It feels a lot stronger than the cheap band. It's easier to put on because it's a bit stiffer and doesn't wad up in the way that pin-and-tuck bands can as you're trying to stuff the loose end underneath without prying the "pin" out of the hole. If you've used these bands, you know what I mean. Once on, I forget it's there, which is how a watch should feel. It's also clearly secure on the wrist, a consideration because I'll wear it clomping around in the yard, and we'll eventually get back out in the kayak, another reason I wanted to upgrade from the flimsier band. Not-so-likes Nothing so far. I get that Nomad is one of those brands that carefully protects a certain "luxury" image, which means these bands cost a bit more than they need to, come in a fancy box, and rarely go on sale. But it's also clearly made with a high level of attention to detail and quality, which you can't guarantee when buying the super cheap bands online. So buy one, but do try to buy on sale. Amazingly, as of this writing, this style of Nomad band is on sale on the Nomad website for $45 for most colors. Five stars for a pricey but high-quality everyday Apple watch band. ... show more

  • One month lifespan
After wearing the Nomad band for one month, it is starting to rip along the inside where it connects to the watch. The band also does not stay clicked into the watch all the time. Disappointed that this band lasted such a short time, especially for its price.

  • Feels Well-Made but Overpriced
This band feels like a premium product with quality materials and a nice design. It’s comfortable, durable, and has a great look that matches well with my Apple Watch. However, it’s slightly heavy and, for the price, feels a bit overpriced. I think Nomad might be a little bit overhyped, this is even more expensive than Apple's sport bands but I think Apple's are better overall. If you can grab this on sale, it’s worth considering. ... show more
