  • Revived old Bose bookshelf spkrs
First, the amp works real well when fed from a pre amp. Second, I like it so much that I ordered a second and will have primo sound on both channels. Bose woofer, micca and bose tweeter (attached to micca with magnets). Don't forget the capacitor or bass blocker!

  • Works great with the ButtKicker Gamer 2 haptic transducer.
I got this amp after the one for my ButtKicker Gamer 2 died as it crossed the 1 year threshold. Not only does everything plug right up (no more sinlge RCA input free hanging as there are two inputs), but my transducer works better with this. It's nice and small, taking up much less room, and easier to control (and remember) the volume. I haven't had any issues with it getting hot either. If I pick up any other transducers later down the road, I'm definitely looking to get more of these. ... show more

  • Whoa! More than I expected.
I am using this amp in a small, family room setup, only. I brought a nice used Yamaha AV amplifier and I hooked the receiver directly up to my 25+ year old Polk "two small satellites and a 10" passive subwoofer" system. Feh... the sound was better than the two small flat screen speakers, but ... So I bought this Nobsound sub-woofer amp so I could use the AV's subwoofer output (it expects a powered subwoofer), and used the standard L/R speaker outputs to drive the satellites. The result was significantly clearer and more defined - both in the subwoofer and the satellites. I like!. Note the Nobsound outputs a mono signal (usual for subwoofer amplifiers), but when I bridged the two stereo inputs (L/R) on the passive subwoofer, the clarity of the sound again improved a bit. It would be nice if the Nobsound had some indication of the cross-over point dial. I just used my ears. ... show more

  • Incredible sub amp: great way to turn a passive sub into an active sub!
I'm using this with an S.M.S.L. A300 amp to hook up a passive subwoofer to it's line-level sub output. It is working perfectly for my needs. PLENTY of power output (I've got the volume set to about 1/3). This devices cutoff of 300Hz is plenty compatible with the 100Hz of the A300. I did notice that in theory the sub freq knob should be able to go down to about 1/3 without impact, but I notice the difference in sound far before that, so I assume it's a non-linear scale. Not a big deal, but might be nice if the knob was labeled in some way so you knew what frequency you are dialing in. That being said for the price I cannot complain. Note that if you are using this for a sub amp be sure to select SUB rather than PBTL with the second switch. If you select full range (PBTL) it has a drastic impact on the output. Which is a BIT odd since I'm already sending only 0-100Hz to the unit from the SMSL. NBD since the SUB setting is most correct for my use anyway, but something to be aware of if you hook it up and think it sounds... off. Quiet. Dont take my minor criticisms for anything but that: nitpicks. I love the amp and am completely happy, especially for the low price. ... show more

  • Revive your old powered subwoofer!
I have a Polk Audio subwoofer that died with a bad internal amplifier. Bypassed the dead circuitry and used this amp to power the speaker. It sounds as good as the original! This amp is quiet and the controls work as expected. I am very pleased with the results.

  • LOTS of bang for the buck
I purchased this to run 2 15" subs with my shop stereo, in combination with 2 JBL EON 615's (shop size is 2400 sq ft). Great at all volumes. A+ product as delivered, A+ seller! Get one for your shop BOOM BOX, BOOOM it WILL!

  • Amplifier is OK. Included power supply is garbage.
The amplifier sounds okay, even when using the garbage 19VDC power supply. However, the power supply produces over 300mV of ripple. 100mV is generally considered acceptable for most applications. If you use a better power supply (or add some filtration), things will improve.
