Description

“If I’ve told you once I’ve told you a million times, no jumping on the bed!” But Walter just can’t resist, so he ignores his father’s bedtime warning. Higher and higher he bounces gleefully, until his hair brushes the ceiling. But when he lands back on the bed—thump, creak, crack—it crashes right through the floor! Suddenly Walter finds himself visiting all the downstairs neighbors in his apartment building in a most unusual way! “Hip, hip, hooray for this delightful urban fantasy, a comic morality tale that explores the consequences of ignoring that age-old ‘momilie,’ ‘If I’ve told you once I’ve told you a million times, no jumping on the bed!’”—School Library Journal Read more

  • Love!
First of all, this book is a classic. I love story, the drawings and the creativity (I loved it when I was kid). The paperback version is very thin so leaves a lot of room on your shelf for other beloved books

  • My Most Favorite
I'm 37 years old, and I remember my parents reading this book to me. It's been our most favorite... Also, read What Was That and The Berenstain Bears. We started collecting these and others for nephew before he was born. We now have another little one on the way. I'm know they'll love them as much as we all do. ❤️ ... show more

  • A favorite for years
As a pre-school teacher for 30 years, I grew to love this book. The flow of the words, the adventure of falling through the floor! I was asked to bring a book to a baby shower, and this one was an easy choice. My own grandchildren love having read to them at bedtime while visiting.

  • Jumping on the bed - a funny, worst-case scenario!
Walter, the lead character, discovers what can really happen when you jump on the bed! This is a book that our two boys really enjoy and is a frequent request before bedtime. My boys think that the concept of an energetic boy crashing through the floor and disrupting the lives of those living in apartments below is absolutely hilarious. The story is greatly enhanced by the wonderful illustrations that complement the vivid verbal description of Walter's adventures. They also enjoy all of the interesting objects, food, toys, and people in each of the apartments and the rhyming that occurs throughout the text. ... show more

  • My Children Favorite Books For Long Time
My son loves this book since he was 2.5Y, now he is 8Y. He still remembers reading this book every nights for many months 😊. Now we read this to my daughter that just turned two every night for more than two weeks. I wish they come in hardpaper for all pages, not just hardcover. I am sure this is going to be her favorite book to for long time. ... show more

  • think about someone else
"But Walter's bedroom floor was someone else's ceiling! The whole idea of apartment living was new to me back then. People living upstairs. More people living downstairs! New experiences like that seem to spark my imagination." A very good book for kids to put themselves in somebody's shoes.
