When the blanket first arrived I thought it was so stiff and the material sucked. But after washing it once, the blanket is actually super soft and I like how thin it is for the summer. Thicker than muslin swaddles. My baby likes to fall asleep with her face covered, and just stopped swaddling and finds the blanket comforting to hug while asleep. So I know some people might get confused by the title but let me give a little background for clarification. A comfort item of my partner's is a baby blanket he has had since being born, another one he had was his mother's, but it is really raged. So, for his birthday I decided to get him a baby blanket in his favorite color. Let's just say he absolutely loves it! It is very soft and stays nice and cool at night. Although the color is slightly different from the photo it isn't an issue at all. Honestly I didn't realize how much would like this. I gave it a try to see if it's any good and I love it. I do wish it was a tad bit bigger but it works as a summer blanket. I like to have a blanket on my arm where it's underneath my baby as I rock her to sleep in my arm. The great thing is it gives some sort of warm but it's ventilated where it doesn't over heat my baby. All lot of blanket I used would make my baby super hot and sense it's summer I thought this blanket would work and it did what I was hoping it would do. I love how light and airy this blanket is. My 4 month old son loves to pull his blanket over his face when he is getting sleepy in his car seat or stroller. This loose knit is perfect for him. We live in Miami where it is always warm, but every place has A.C. set to Iceberg degrees, so we have to have blankets for him. I dislike polyester fabrics, mainly "fleece"... yucky... it makes him sweat and that "super soft" plush blanket gave him sweat rash.This is natural cotton and breathable.After a wash in Dreft baby laundry detergent, this blanket softened and fluffed up naturally. I bought this for a car seat blanket. It matches my daughter’s car seat nicely. The color is beautiful. We bought lavender. The blanket is very lightweight so won’t be warm for outdoor winter use, but it’s great for indoor use. I like the open weave. It makes me feel confident that she could not suffocate. I bought this for my baby when he started to move in his sleep. He was bad about rolling and wrapping blankets around his face. Our solution was a sleep sack fastened at his waist with his arms free, and he would use this blanket to soothe. If he wrapped it or pulled it over his face, it has the holes for air. It’s not incredibly soft like Muslin or he other common blanket fabrics. It feels like it’s homemade, so that material- if that makes sense. ... show more

I bought two of the white blankets before my daughter was born. I used them to wrap her up when nursing. She likes the extra warmth. They are very soft and made of cotton. I decided to buy two more, a mint green and a pink. All four blankets have stood up to repeated washings, on cold water and dried on low. The colored blankets did shrink a little and seem a little stiffer when compared to the white blankets. I think this is due to the dye used. They are still soft overall. This difference is only when comparing blankets. The pink one when compared to the green one shrank a little more and seems a little stiffer. I'm purchasing two more white blankets because now I'm using them over her swaddled on cold nights and in her car seat when we go out. She loves to grip them when nursing. These are great blankets for the money. I have only purchased them from the Daddy NiuNiu seller and have had no problems with quality or shipping. ... show more

I really like this blanket. I see a lot of reviews saying it's small but for me it's the perfect size, it's small enough that if it did go on my daughters face she could pull it off with 1 kick because it's a perfect size.
