This is a really nice dash cam. The video quality is excellent and the connectivity is pretty good. I also have a Ring dash cam and the connectivity is about the same. You can expect some latency regarding the cell connection. I have no complaints for a low cost dash cam 3 months in. Works well. Easy to install properly with the supplied directions. (YMMV depending on vehicle) Only complaint is it's slow to pick up a drive sometimes so you might want to double check. Close out your last drive helps. And the occasional message from the company to checkup on you for no reason. Overall, great bang for the buck! For the people complaining about heat, you don't have to stream. The camera will pickup when you power on the car and notify you it is recording in the background. If you don't get the message, open the app and verify it has started recording. Close the app and it will, once again, notify you it is recording in the background. It will notify you at the end of the drive to save it also. Nice that it picks up things like hard braking and such automatically. Or, you can manual take a clip if you are streaming by clicking on it. I use Bluetooth to connect to my stereo so no issues with Wi-Fi. ... show more

I really do like this brand. I was recommended by someone and the camera quality is great day and night. I do wish it was a live recording option when your car is parked. It does seem to go into a parking mode once you do park and i know it will alert you if it senses any movement or noise in your car. But its only one camera so you wouldn't be able to see the inside on your car unless you turned the camera around. But its a easy set up, step by step instructions but i ended up not needing them after like Step 2. Was easy to hide the cord, at least w/ my car. Doesn’t seem to overheat & i live in Houston where heat reaches up to 100+ degrees. Hasnt melted or fallen off the windshield. It also will sense hard breaking/Parking incidents and capture the moment separately from the whole video that way your not looking for it. I like this little camera because its small and discreet but again i wish it had a inside camera. ... show more

Customer service directly from the website was extremely helpful when I informed them that my mount broke. I have liked using this camera since I was hit and run in 2022. I like that it streams right to my phone but it does kind of drain the battery, so know that. It has a good image and plenty of settings but really it’s a great basic WiFi dash camera.     • Awesome Video but Everything Else Comes Up Lacking

I've been using this now for a couple weeks and the video quality is awesome. Clear as a bell. What I don't like is the app. It's not completely intuitive and there is ZERO in the way of user guides and no help on their site. The challenge I had was trying to figure out how to reduce the size of the clip instead of download the whole drive. A 30 minute drive is about one gig of space and that gets hard to move around. I finally figured out how to shrink the size of the clip but then when trying to do that, all of a sudden the video will go all black and then I have to get out completely and come back in and start from scratch to find the portion of the clip I want to save. Spend some time on the app and fix these shortcomings for a five-star review. After having this dash cam for several months I can now say that I totally regret buying this cam and have updated my review accordingly. Here's why I would never buy this again. 1. Getting a clip downloaded is basically impossible unless you want to make the whole recording a clip which means a very large file. When trying to use the app to trim the clip it fails every time. What happens is as you browse the clip, eventually it will go all black and you can't see anything before or after. Essentially, the whole clip turns black and you have no idea where you are trying to clip. 2. The suction cup doesn't hold very well. Camera falls off the windshield constantly. The most recent time the screw that holds the camera to the suction cup fell out and is now lost somewhere inside my car or on the front end of the dashboard where you can't reach anything that falls in. 3. Constantly turning off mid drive. I'm constantly having to push the USB into the adapter they give you and it will chime and then seconds later it's back off again. 4. Kills the battery on my phone. In one short drive of 30-minutes I can go from 100% charged to 60%. I then have to plug my phone in and it causes my phone to heat up and start shutting down apps. I would not buy this again, EVER. This is my first dash cam, so I can't compare it to others. I chose Nexar based on reviews, the app, and free cloud storage. Setting it up was very easy. Suction cups usually don't hold, but this one is sturdy and tight. They provide ample cord length to snake it around the windshield and seat and provided some clips to keep the cord in place. After downloading the app and turning the car in, the device paired itself practically instantly. Videos are clear, day or night. If you want audio in your drive videos you must manually enable it in settings. One major disadvantage is it doesn't have motion detection or shock sensors so if you are hit while parked, it won't catch anything. It's only on when the car is on. Others have mentioned it only starts recording 5 minutes into the drive, but I haven't experienced this. Mine is already recording while I'm still taking stuff out of my pockets before I pull out of the driveway. So far I love it, but if I were to get another, I'd definitely choose a dash cam that will turn on and record from motion/shock. ... show more
