  • FEATURES: This motor features a 36 inch fiberglass shaft, a 10 LED battery meter, a 6 inch telescoping tiller handle, 30 degree adjustable head, and 3 blade propeller. The tiller angle, as well as mount, height, angle, and direction can all be adjusted and locked into place when needed.
  • SPEED: This motor has 8 speeds, 5 forward and 3 reverse. The motor is designed for trolling, so the top speed of this motor is about 4mph, but depends on your boat shape, weight, water, wind, and other factors. Our 3 Blade Propeller gives the motor great low end torque to get the boat moving.
  • BATTERY: The 55lb X Series motor requires one (1) 12V Lead-Acid Deep Cycle or Lithium Deep Cycle battery (battery not included), 50ah recommended. The motor also includes a 50amp circuit breaker which is recommended at all times to protect from battery voltage surges. Max Amp Draw: 52A

Description

The X Series model 55lb thrust electric trolling motor by Newport. This versatile and all around use trolling motor is constructed with the highest quality materials and design concepts. This trolling motor is built to last. With an adjustable 36-inch shaft length, the Newport trolling motor is built to fit all Newport inflatable boats as well as all other inflatable boats, kayaks, dinghies, tenders, fishing boats, aluminum fishing boats, and inflatables with a transom. The control box and handle can adjust up and down 30 degrees to give the rider a more comfortable ride while steering the vessels. The 8 speed control system (5 forward speeds and 3 reverse speeds) makes for a smooth and easily controlled ride. The 55lb thrust X Series electric trolling motor comes with a 3 blade propeller (10 inch diameter) for optimal performance. This transom mount motor is built to be powered by a 12-volt Lead Acid Deep Cycle battery or Marine battery (battery not included).

Using this on an 11' inflatable dinghy (Costco Tobin Sports). Running it straight for 4 hours barely uses any battery, it has great features, it's light, and been very reliable so far. I also just hooked up a Garmin striker 4 vivid cv fish finder and was able to mount the GT20 transducer to the bottom of the motor. It fits perfectly and there is no electronic interference noticed on the display of the Garmin unit and it's also plugged into the same battery as the trolling motor. Seems like a Pretty heavy trolling motor (I have no frame of reference) for my canoe but it works fantastic. Plenty of thrust for a not quite 14 ft 100-115lbs plastic canoe with around 580lbs of cargo. No complaints, oh and it tells you how much battery life you have which is pretty sweet.

I use this trolling motor on my 14 foot jon boat & with all my gear and my 6hp outboard in the boat, the trolling motor has plenty of power. I gave the motor 4 stars due to the fact the motor is pretty heavy. The motor is pretty quiet.

I just received this trolling motor in February 2022. I have already used it at least a dozen times on my 16' Lowe boat. Many times there are three adults fishing in the boat and this trolling motor pushes the boat very well. If you do use the 5th speed too much, you may deplete the battery(one time on a very windy day), but the majority of time I never needed it beyond speed setting #3. Has plenty of power to move my 16’ deep v fishing boat, it is pretty efficient as far as battery drain, it mounts easily to the transom, I was skeptical of this product because of some of the reviews but so far it’s a 5 star, I cut the battery mounts off and put clip style so there no chance of it turning on while driving down the road ... show more

Wow! Used on an Aquos 10.2 ft Pontoon Boat and this motor was awesome! Durable: On a new lake and hit a shallow area unexpectedly. The motor didn't have any issues. No visible damage and it was easy to raise to get out of that area. Talk about power! Tri-blade prop and 55 lb thrust got the job done. When popped into 5th, the front of the boat lifted and the rooster tail was quite enjoyable. Battery drain? Not much at all, even when in 5th.     • Pieces lose in motor

Great price and honestly seems like a nice unit. After unboxing and putting the prop on I noticed that inside the motor compartment there is lose pieces. Could be plastic, metal. Important or not I am not sure. I powered the unit and it works but does make me nervous. I’m going to attempt to keep the motor without swapping out but will check to see if this has a factory warranty just in case. ... show more
