I have a few belts I use for weight-lifting, sore back, and outside yard work. The velcro on these wear-out with time, so I get new ones every few years. I just randomly ordered this one and was surprised that it came with a pouch on the back that can go in the freezer for cold, or in the microwave for heat. NICE! It as comfortable as any other flat back version, but it's not the most comfortable. The best are the ones with gel-filled bubbles that mold into your spine. Got this support belt to help relieve my low back pain. The belt gives good lower back support. The velcro holds tight and I still have full freedom of movement while wearing. The heat/cooling pack is a nice addition to this support belt. I've used the pack for heat relief with some good results.

I'm a woman, aged 66, with some scoliosis issues and as it slowly progresses with age I decided to try a brace for occasional use. This seems to be a nice one. The sizing is OK, it just fits around my 40-ish lower back area. I need support somewhere in between my waist and my tailbone, so I have it sitting lower on my hips, and I also pull it tight to get the full benefit of the support. If you're on the margin of 41" size-wise, you might need a bigger size. This seems to be a new item for the NEWGO company, so perhaps they will add sizes as time goes on. The cold/hot pack is a nice addition, although I haven't tried those yet. Frankly, if I'm going to use a cold/heat pack, I do that resting at the end of the day, not while working, so I probably wouldn't use it in the brace, but it is a nice option and might work well for some. (I did notice when on the NEWGO company page that they have nice belts and wraps for icing/heating various body parts and I might try the one for lower backs.) Note that this brace does not have suspenders, which personally I don't miss much. Since I want it down low, I don't really use suspenders as they tend to pull the brace up; also I find them too warm and uncomfortable. But some might want them and this doesn't have them. Also seems to be a decent price; braces can go from less than $10 to more than $40, so this seems OK to me. I would say I recommend this. ... show more

    • Very supportive but a bit bulkier than I had expected
Great product, supportive, but bulky so harder to wear under your blouse or dress if going to work. Nice touch that you can attach an ice pack to help with back pain.

    • Small ice pack. Surprisingly smelly!? 😬
The idea of this back support is nice and that it includes the ice pack, but there are a few shortcomings. First, the ice pack is actually very small. It doesn't cover a very large area, which when it comes to back pain, is not very helpful. Second, and very strangely, it's just impossibly smelly. It breaks of a very strong chemical smell as soon as you take it out of the package. The smell is so strong it is practically unusable. This sounds extreme but in all sincerity, the smell is extreme! ... show more
