I purchased to replace the bottom of a 17z-ca000 HP laptop. The top corner was broken and the monitor bracket was floating (and breaking the case even more). I took a chance on this and it fits perfectly. I compared it to the original and it was completely identical. The only thing that it didn't have was the original stampings that the HP bottom had, such as product number, serial number, etc. but why would it :) I'm just going to have to write down that S/N somewhere should I ever need it.     • Saved my laptop
The old case was cracked from normal wear and tear over years of use. I had been using epoxy and mesh to fix the cracks, but this only slowed the cracking down. Eventually the laptop was becoming structurally unstable. One day, while trying to figure out how to reinforce the bottom with small slats of wood, I thought of looking to see if a replacement bottom was available and found this on Amazon. Wow! It fit perfectly and my laptop is as rigid and stable as it was when it was new. I only wish I'd have thought of looking for a replacement earlier ... show more
