  • works well with iphone, good sound, comfortable and most importantly, MUCH harder to lose.
Color: Smoke Gray Style: Flex
literallly lost airpod bud on day 1. tried flex and haven't looked back. good isolation, good bass, easy to set up and use. may not look as cool but much more practical for me. recently bought buds for noise cancellation while on flights - works very well for that, but again, someone bumped me from behind while i was reaching for my bag overhead and one side fell out. i had to wait for everyone to deplane to search under the seats. luckily i found it, but kind of a hassle. flex are also so affordable! less than the replacement cost of 1 airpod bud. one negative - when i first started wearing them (for long periods) i noticed slight ear infection symptoms, probably from not letting my ear naturally breath and drain normally which may not be a problem with the loose fitting airpods and earpods. ... show more

  • overall a good bang for your buck
Color: Black Style: Flex
Gonna give these a tentative 5, although 4.4 would be more accurate. I had a pair of these a few years ago and they were great. Good sound quality, good battery life, feel like their built well, and fairly intuitive to use. However, they died suddenly after two years. They were fine, then suddenly they refused to connect to my phone. When messing with them the next day, they stopped powering on and nothing would happen when plugged in. Two years isn't that bad considering they were only about $40 at the time, but still...really? I've tried a few other >$75 options since then and they've all kinda sucked in some way. I don't like separate airpod style headphones. They're finicky, annoying, and too easy to lose. So, back to the beats flex. These seem to be the best choice for a corded bluetooth headphone. They're light, cord is flexible and resilient, but doesn't get all tangled up. Sound on these is great for the money, battery life is good, though I only use them for 1-3 hours at a time. That hardly uses any of the battery, and I charge them after every use. I think a lot of people just have unrealistic expectations for bluetooth headphones. For $49, I think they're well worth it. The list price of $69.99 I would say is too much, and would buy something else at that level. ... show more

  • Excellent Low-Cost Earbuds for the Apple Ecosystem
Color: Black Style: Flex
This is my 3rd pair of Beats Flex earbuds. I lost a pair in France a few years ago, and had another pair for at least 18mos before I finally sweat too much on them (I'm a cyclist) and apparently shorted them out. Nowadays I use Shokz for cycling, and I have Beats Fit and Air Pods for when I need noise-cancelling. So where do the Beats Flex fit in? I love these earbuds for conference calls and watching TV (on Apple TV) while lounging around the house. You can wear them around your neck and simply pop the earbuds in whenever you need them. Due to the Apple W1 BlueTooth chip, once you connect the earphones to any of your Apple devices, you can instantly connect to ANY of your other Apple devices, so it's astonishingly easy to transfer from your iPad, to an iMac, to your phone or Apple TV. And they're so inexpensive, you don't need to be particularly concerned about losing them. As always, the sound quality is quite good, and now that they charge via USB-C, you can plug the Beats Flex in for 15 minutes and they're ready to use. These earbuds fill a very specific niche, especially for Apple users, who can benefit from the W1 chip. Highly recommend for TV, conference calls, or simple everyday use. ... show more

  • Good - but not quite as good as the older version
Color: Black Style: Flex
These comments apply to Beats Flex released in late 2020. I got this item to replace a set I bought in early 2020 from another store. That set was great, but the left bud housing cracked when I fell asleep while wearing them. Besides that lack of durability and phone call quality, I liked the original product enough to repurchase it (at a sale price). Even so, I have some issues with the new set. My impressions are below. Connectivity: These Flex does not connect as easily to my phone nor remain connected as reliably for listening (see the phone audio quality comments below). I use these Flex with the same phone as before, but the performance aspect of the new Flex is not as good. I believe that the Android Bluetooth settings and the Beats app (Android) interact differently with the new Flex. Where the older Flex seemed to connect quickly, these new Flex require different user actions. Finally, on this point, I have not linked these to my Macbook; however, my old Flex worked flawlessly--and sounded great with the Macbook. Sound quality: These Flex sound good, but the bass is a bit wanting. I prefer a prominent low-end response, and the low-end on the Flex does not sound as good as the previous set. The highs and mid-range are clear, crisp, and not harsh or too bright, even at higher listening levels. I have not listened to Apple Spatial Audio content. The Dolby Atmos feature sounds about the same compared to the older Flex. Phone audio quality: These Flex sound great and are superior to the quality of my older Flex. The difference is dramatic. The connection during phone use is stable and quiet with little noise. Comfort: These Flex are less comfortable because the cord between the buds seems shorter or less flexible. I haven't concluded yet. The ear tips also seem harder and do feel as comfortable. If I find my broken set, I will swap tips. My initial perceptions of (dis)comfort may be due to insufficient break-in time. If I determine this is the case, I will update this point. Battery performance: The new Flex provide long listening time. I have frequently gotten more than 12 ours of non-continuous use between charges. I am pleased by the battery performance. Other features/Accessories: Flex comes with an assortment of 4 different-sized eartips and a USB-C to USB-C cable for charging Flex. The cable is much too short for my use, being only about 4-6 inches in length. I have not used the cable because it is inconvenient, and I do not own a USB-C charging adapter; however, I have a suitable adapter supplied with my phone. In the box, as they say, should be a longer cable and an appropriate adapter. ... show more

  • I have tiny ear canals and these work pretty well, sound is good enough for everyday use
Color: Black Style: Flex
I have tiny ear canals and am always on the lookout for earbuds that fit my ears and don't hurt me. I have really enjoyed these. They are light and comfortable. The sound is quite good and certainly is good enough for everyday use. They charge up quickly and go quite a long time on a charge. My ears don't hurt with these! They are well worth the price I paid. ... show more
