  • Good fit, good value
Size: 14 XX-Wide Color: Black/Black
These shoes are fantastic for the workplace. They are all day comfortable which is to be expected from new balance, the no slip soles are excellent. They are very solid shoes. The only complaint I have and it’s a small one. The toe box is a little narrow. Not uncomfortably so but a bit more narrow than I would prefer. The quality otherwise more than makes up for it ... show more

  • Very comfortable and good looking
Size: 13 Color: Black/Black
Great shoes, my second purchase of this brand. Very comfortable for long days on my feet. They have the non slip soles which I thought would be better in my sometimes wet shop with concrete floors. If worn outside it can be tough to get the mud/grass out so I just wear the right ones for working inside or out. Be careful about getting the correct width. I bought the wrong width last time and always have to wear “winter socks” to fit better. ... show more

  • Great for a wide foot, bad if you have high arches, too
Size: 9.5 XX-Wide Color: Black/Black
Wore 706bk XW (postal service approved walking shoe) for several years. NB apparently stopped making that model when the contract ended. The 577s were similar, so got those last year. Didn’t fit (or last) like the 706’s. Got the 626v2 XWs last week. Very comfortable relative to width (unlike the 577, doesn’t hurt the side of my feet), so thats a plus. However, unlike both the 706 and the 577, these seem to have much less arch support than the other models. How that (ultimately) plays out remains to be seen. Overall though, they are quite comfortable, adn if the arch support works as it, I will likely get these again. ... show more

  • Durable shoes for hard workers with wide feet.
Size: 9.5 XX-Wide Color: Black/Black
These shoes are durable. Regular street shoes do not last more than a week at my job, but these have held up for four months. The non-slip feature also seems to work nicely. I regularly have to walk through pools of oil, coolant, and metal chips, and have yet to even come close to slipping. Apparently at some point something fell on my foot and left a tear in the fabric. I didn't even notice, so the composite toe did its job. By far the best feature though is the fact that it comes in 6E wide. Finally, a heavy-duty work shoe that doesn't cause blisters on the sides of my feet! I will buy another pair of these when they are eventually worn down to nubs. ... show more

  • like old school with one caveat
Size: 11 Wide Color: Black/Black
this shoe reminded me of the fit of the 623 cross trainer. felt comfortable from day one....but one caveat...trying to use an elliptical exercise machine may be painful. If you want these for every day use (but not exercising) they are very comfortable, have tremendous traction, and seem well built. (I haven't had them for 6 months yet, but they are holding up well) I wish they came in other colors (white navy, etc). They are a bit stiff at first, but the remedy to that is to not lace them up on every hole. As you break them in, can probably lace them up a bit more. They seem to be stiffer and heavier than cross trainers...so cardio may not be a great idea ... show more

  • Restaurant Shoes
Size: 13 Color: Black/Black
Bought these for use at a fast-paced restaurant and they work great. I went through 2 pairs of these in 3 years walking an average of 10miles 5 times a week on them. Very comfortable shoes too.

  • Good shoe but one big glitch!
Size: 10 X-Wide Color: Black/Black
Big NB fan and bought this shoe for all advertised features as a workshop shoe. Good look, good fit, good price BUT unfortunately, the tight waffle pattern on the tread picks up loose shop debris. In a wood shop the saw dust and wood shavings get packed deeply into the tread and are almost impossible to brush or air blow out. I will continue to wear this quality shoe casually but not as a wood shop work shoe. ... show more

  • Not just a work shoe
Size: 8.5 X-Wide Color: Black/Black
First things first, I found this shoe to be light weight and comfortable from the get-go. I have worn New Balance shoes for many years, choosing either the wide or extra-wide sizes. A go-to shoe over the years has been their their various training shoes that I have used extensively at the gym, often using them while playing hoops. (Have you ever tried to find a high-top shoe in a lower size range (8.5) that comes in wide sizes? Got one pair from New Balance ages ago, but never found a similar shoe again.) When the trainers needed replacing I turned them into work shoes - very comfortable and made well enough to give me a good second life. Eventually, they wear out and at this point I didn't have a pair in the pipeline ready to become my next work shoe. My heavy duty work shoe is a metal-toed Timberland which is nice to have when doing things like splitting wood or chainsawing. But for extensive work in and around the house, a comfortable lighter shoe is wanted. I went online to see what was out there, and was delighted to find this shoe. Using it has been super. After getting the first pair I decided to buy a second pair while it was available. I can use those as an everyday shoe (solid black is great) and they'll be a backup if I eventually need to replace the first pair. ... show more
