My wife and I went to Europe for the whole month of May. I have had back surgery and walking can hurt but I needed a good pair of walking shoes. I bought these Sketchers and was doubtful, when I ordered them, that they would be comfortable. Boy was I wrong! We walked over 125 miles with these shoes! And they still look brand new. I had brought other shoes to also wear. I never even put the other ones on! These shoes are amazing. Very comfortable and practical. Others had said they are on the small side, I wear a 9D and a size 9 fit me perfectly. If and when these shoes completely wear out (like in five years??) I will get another pair! ... show more

the wide version was just a little snug for my feet and the extra wide is too wide. But the are light and comfortable other than that.

I had to go up a full size for this shoe to fit right, and as I have wide and thick feet, they are still a little small - the tongue of the shoe needs to be a little wider or the sides need to be taller for me. I like the styling and brown uppers with grey sole - they don't like "old man white tennis shoes" as my sister accused me of wearing, instead they feel like trainers, but pass for semi-dress casual friday office wear. ... show more

    • Well made, nice shoe, but smaller than it used to be...
I bought this exact shoe, same size, a couple of years back and wear them all the time to the point of wearing them out. Great shoe. Since my original pair were starting to fall apart I bought it again. Unfortunately New Balance has apparently changed factories or something...the material is not as comfortable, there are slight, if inconsequential changes in the design, but the biggest problem is they are slightly narrower, not what you want when you've gone and bought a 4E shoe. As I break them in they are loosening a little and so a but less uncomfortable but the narrowness isn't going to change with wear so that's a negative. Still real good support but disappointed with the cheaper look and feel of the material and the width. ... show more

There is a large thing to help pull shoe on an the back of both shoes. May have to cut it them off.

    • Lose or change the pull on loop

Like the shoes, but that pull on loop invites a fall and collects stuff; leaves, branches etc. Should have stayed with the other style loop.
