I guess one has to complain about something here! The shoe strings are a bit too short at 46". They will fit if you don't use the last hole on each side. You will need to look for 54" shoe strings if you want to use the holes as designed. These sneakers also run a bit on the small size. I usually fit comfortably in 7.5 Nikes, but with the New Balances, I need to be in wide. The wide label suffix is "2E". My old pair of New Balance cross trainer shoes were "4E" which is extra-wide (in other words, they were 7.5 4E - you will find that under the shoes' tongues). The 4Es are just a few mm wider than the 2Es and I figured correctly that they wouldn't make much of a difference. These arrived yesterday and I wore them for a few hours then and all day today and I would say that they don't require much more breaking in. Speaking just for myself here, I think they're good enough to order a second pair. ... show more

I read a lot of the negative reviews about these shoes and was a little nervous but bought them anyway. I can honestly say all the negative things I read were completely wrong in my case. The comfort right out of the box was perfect, as I would expect. I have been wearing New Balance for many years and have rarely if ever been disappointed. The fit was perfect too. Soon after I put them on, I went for a 25-minute walk. They felt great with no break in needed. This was despite the fact that I had a large open blister on the back of my foot due to a walk with another pair of shoes. Another negative thing I read was that the shoes were too heavy. My husband is an amputee and could not find dress shoes that were comfortable with his prosthetic leg.. These were all black , fit just like his other New Balances that he always wears, and were fine to wear with a suit at a wedding and did not look out of place.

Nice shoes and I will be keeping them because I already used them but they are a bit tight in the toe area. I picked 8 and half Wide which is what I always use in my sneakers, but I guess these are going to need more breaking in than usual.

I've worn new balance running shoes for years. Switched to walking shoes as I've aged. This is the first time I've had one fit a bit too tight. If it doesn't loosen a bit I may return them.

I purchased several pairs of shoes in the same size. Just like Little Red Riding Hood: Some were too small, some were just right... and these were massively oversized! They looked like moon boots on me. The quality and feel are spot on, so I'll just return them for the next size down.
