    • A quick way to Gain Anotther USB Socket
With mini/micro motherboards you may only get two internal USB sockets available. Running many things, especially the new style CPU water pumps, requires a USB hookup and if you want a graphic information panel you'll need more. That is where this will deliver the necessary extra socket.

I bought this for the same reason anyone else that's looking at it buys it - I only have two usb 2.0 headers on my mobo and I have a need for 3 ports. One for my wraith prism cooler, one for my pci-e wifi/bt card, and one for my Lian Li SL120 fans. The ONLY thing this splitter worked on was the wraith prism cooler. I assume it does not provide enough power for the pci-e card, nor the controller for my fans. I'll be purchasing the NZXT model that looks far better, and has it's own power supply. It worked for about an hour. My mother board couldn’t provide enough power to power the multiple (two) usb plugs I used it to operate. The next time I booted the bios began throwing usb over current warnings and wouldn’t complete boot. I sure wish I knew another way to make it work.

    • Doesn't work
Needed an extra USB header for the Corsair fan hub on a PC I am building so decided to give this a try. It did not work. I tried plugging the splitter on both the USB headers on the B450 mobo and the computer wouldn't recognize the fan hub. I plugged the fan hub directly into the USB header on the mobo and instantly recognized. I also tried a pcie wireless/bluetooth card on the splitter that requires a USB header and would work for 10 seconds then disconnect. Plugged directly into the USB header on the mobo it never disconnected. The aio cpu cooler I'm using also uses a USB header so tried it with that and didn't work. Maybe I got a bad one but I wouldn't recommend going with this one since it doesn't seem to work with some of the most popular things you would need to use it for on a PC. ... show more
