The magnetic base and the hook are separate, so you screw them together, a useful feature enabling flat packing. They work great. Hung up my hat, laundry bag and shoe horn to name a few while on our Viking cruise. One wall next to the bed was metal. Came in handy as space is limited on this River cruise. I will bring them on future cruises. It’s worth the purchase as they are mighty magnetic hooks.

I was surprised at how small these are when I received them. I'm horrible at conceptualizing size from measurements. I don't hold this against the product but in case you're like me, the hooks are pretty small. I do like that the hook screws into the magnet. I haven't had any problems with the hook breaking off. The magnets are pretty strong, especially for the size. However, I'm not sure what the 30 pounds is meant to mean because these magnets will not hold 30 pounds or anything close to it. ... show more

These multipurpose magnets are pretty fantastic. They come in two pieces, which makes them super versatile. I’ve used them to hang kitchen towels without loops—just stick the magnet to the towel and attach it to any metal surface, like a refrigerator. However, there are a few things to watch out for. The strength of these magnets varies depending on the type of metal surface. On strong steel frames or metal walls, they can stick very firmly, which might cause paint to strip off or leave marks when removed. They might also slide down on some surfaces if the magnetism isn’t strong enough. I tested them on a couple of steel frames, and one left a mark. So, it’s definitely a good idea to test the strength on a small, less visible area first, especially before hanging anything valuable or fragile. Overall, these magnets are a great tool for various tasks, just be mindful of the surface you’re using them on! ... show more
