They don't have holes to drain water, because only cheap, department store water shoes have that feature. You would probably buy and wear out 10 pairs of those, before 1 pair of these! The real test is how they perform in their environment. My daughters have taken them river rafting and beach walking several times, and they are raving about their comfort, stylishness, and functionality! i bought these booties for my husband who needed a new pair of booties to wear with his diving fins. The fit is true to size. They are made of a high quality material. The design is well thought out including ribbing on the bottom and sides to prevent slipping and to sit well in your fins. They are great for walking across various terrains; rock, water, docks. Bought these and the ones that look similar to toe shoes. These actually had better grip on the slimy river rocks in Tennessee. Although the toe shoe ones are more comfortable for walking around in. You can feel the pointiest of the gravel, but your going to unless you buy hard soled water shoes. Little bit of gravel got inside but not unreasonable. If you tighten the strap, it will dig into your Achillies tendon. But, by design, they don't need to be cranked on that tight. Very similar to my diving booties, but with a softer sole and lower price. They also don't have an insole, so cleaning them out is just popping them off and rinsing. The toe shoe looking ones that come in all the different colors and styles have the insole. Traps sand and such underneath and catches it in the webbing under. If you are looking for water shoes, these are great. If you are looking for water shoes to walk around in all day, the toe shoe looking ones are more comfortable ... show more

Product fit snug and for a period of time even remained watertight (even though this is not the intention with these shoes). I wore these while scaling Dunns River Falls in Jamaica and they worked great, great grip and were comfortable the whole way up the Falls.

I've bought this shoes for a family beach vacation trip. The shoes are comfortable and protected well, while walking on the beach and swimming in the Atlantic. Also super easy to clean under water to wash off sand/dirt. I can only recommend it to give them a try!
