  • Superb light stand for the money.
We needed new light stands that require less ballast to hold them stable with larger lights and modifiers on them. Having one that also quickly swings into a boom is also a nice bonus. These work as expected and are very stable and sturdy. They are anything but light weight. These are steel and quite heavy, but for studio use when I want lights to stay put and will not be moving them often, this fits the need. I may purchase the optional wheels for the stands in the future to improve mobility, but for now it hasn't been an issue. ... show more

  • Sturdy. Easy to Assemble. Perfect for use case.
These are my first C-stands, and I was impressed by the sturdy, quality feel. From the box it took me just a couple of minutes to assemble. Packaging was appropriate to the contents and the products arrived in great condition. Eventually I’ll use these stands for lighting, and other things in my studio, but for now I bought two of them so that I could stretch a heavy blanket over them and create a voice-over booth. Works great. I was concerned that I’d need to weigh down the legs with sandbags, but that has not been needed for my use case. BTW, they were also easy to adjust. The knobs feel solid, and fit and finish is excellent throughout. ... show more

  • The last tripod you will need to buy!
As a professional photographer, I have purchased many tripods and light stands due to their bolts and locks coming loose or braking within months of using them. This stand is made in such a way that you will not need to replace them any soon. Yes, they are more expensive but the benefits are many, including: The material is impossible to break, the legs spread wider than any other stand, giving your lights more stability (we all had lights falling on the ground and braking due to the tripod not having a good base), they can adjust to bring your lights higher than normal stands, and you can use them for vertical lighting as well as using the extra arm to position them horizontally on top of your model's head or product to achieve the desired look. Some times spending a little more, will mean saving money in the long run by not having to buy light stands for a very long time, besides, your studio will look next level. ... show more

  • Big and heavy
Don’t think this is just a nicer slightly bigger version of a light stand! It is a beast and suited to things much heavier than a speedlight or an AD100 or 200. Unless you have to, you won’t want to schlepp it around town. Better suited to stay put in a studio. You may need some counterweights for the boom. But, for some events or shoots you can drag it with you. I’m trying to find a huge rifle case to transport it. And somewhere in the house to store it! It’s very nicely machined and finished, durability unknown. ... show more

  • This light C-Stand is great.
I got this C-stand for a new 300 watt light I just got. Let me tell you. I am very please with the quality of the stand. You can't beat it for the price. I strongly believe you can't go wrong with the Neewer C-Stand.

  • Super sturdy!
Love them. They are super sturdy, and made out of stainless steel. Probably the cheapest C stands I could find in terms of price so I was worried, but they are probably as good as a high end brand I would imagine. Very happy with the purchase and i will be buying more if I need anymore C stands.

  • Good value
Pretty solid. A good value for the price, though not as sturdy as a Mathews or other pro c-stand.

  • For the money, I don't think it's possible to make one any better
I bought one of these for a project where I really needed an overhead light, and didn't expect a lot from this based on the price. After using it, I can't say that it's lacking anything compared to any other c stands I've used in the past. In fact, as soon as I got home from the shoot, I ordered another one, and a carrying case that holds both. Basically a very solid c stand, with spring loaded safety poles (can't imagine one not having that, but these indeed have them) and everything just works well. It is NOT light, but for something like this, you don't want it light. You need to use sand bags with it anyhow, so the hefty weight is an added bonus to the structurally sound materials. ... show more
