I bought this to keep my stud earrings in. I found it nice for the large earrings but not good for the small ones. When I slipped the stem in the slot, the back would get pushed off and there is a deep slant underneath where it would get lost and it was too narrow to get a finger and thumb in. I got the purple color, and it is so pretty. This has a glass top, so I don't think you would want this for travel. This is best for organizing shorter necklaces, like 18-22 inches long. It is also best to hold and carry it flat. Otherwise the necklaces get tangled together below the hook at top. There are 2 lift-up locks (no key) to keep it closed. ... show more

This is an okay way to store my necklaces. Two quibbles: the measurements measure the OUTSIDE of the box, not the interior space (I should have thought of that when I bought it) so most of my necklaces are too long by an inch or so, so they pool up at the bottom. The other quibble is that I saw something very similar to this at Michael’s that was not only bigger, it was also nicer looking and $5 less! I wish I had known Michael’s sells jewelry boxes like this before I bought this one.
