I don't really know like seeming upper material, blade material, things sort of like that. In a way, not sure that it matters in the sense that I got these for my granddaughter. Do they fit her well? Yes. Can she skate around the ice pond in them? Yes. Is she happy to wear these and skate in these? Yes. Does she love the colors of these? Yes. So funny. For her how they look is probably her favorite thing. For me, can she have fun skating with these on? The answer is yes. For me, everything else seems like a bonus. ... show more

These ice skates have a thick, warm, comfortable lining inside. They fit my daughter exactly as expected. They look nice to start with, but I imagine the white will quickly become dirty and scuffed. My daughter wanted white skates though. They need to be sharpened before your first use, but most do. The blade guards are nothing to hang on to. Get some quality ones that will stay on the skates. The included guards I think were only meant for shipping protection. There should be more ankle support if you are going to get fancy with them but they are fine for tooling around on the ice. They are easy to lace up and get skating quickly. They feel like good quality and if they don't hold up this winter I will post an update. These skates look sharp (pun intended), but they do need to be sharpened before you wear them. I got them sharpened at the rink by the skate rental person, but I didn’t realize from the packaging that I needed to do this. I also learned that they don’t have enough ankle support for those who are beyond the beginner level. Thus, these are beautiful for starting out but you’d need a higher quality skate if you’re advanced. ... show more

Beautiful and beginner-friendly ice skates. The lining is thick, warm, and comfortable, fitting as expected. Need sharpening before the first use, but that's standard. I came across this pair and really fell over because of the look. I love the color gradient and the matching blade. I have not seen a pair of ice skates with blades like this, and since really it's just an aesthetic addition, and adds really nothing else, it's still awesome. It just completes the whole look. The quality is top-notch. I am used to really crappy pairs of skates so these are just glamorous in comparison to those. It feels great. The padding and the inner liner is so nice. I use lighter, thinner socks when I use these for that extra space in the boot, and so that my foot doesn't overheat. That would be my only complaint about the skate, it makes my foot hot after a while if I am wearing normal socks. The thinner ones really help take that problem away. They are so comfortable and my ankle just love not getting cut up. A wonderful pair of skates. 100% worth the money. Highly Recommend! ... show more

To be honest, I do not know a whole lot about ice skates and what makes a pair great and what makes a pair not great. These seem pretty nice and if you can get them with the 40% off coupon, go for it. The boots are made of PU leather so I don't think they will hold up as well as leather (in my experience PU falls apart even without a lot of use) but the ankles are very sturdy and supportive. The boot is narrow but it seems to run fairly true to size for length. The blade guard is a little jenky and doesn't seem like it will stay on without the zip tie holding it in place - it might be necessary to get new blade guards. Currently the DD is breaking them in around the house before she attempts to skate on actual ice. The skates did come with a little brochure with helpful information - how to take care of your skates, make sure not to store your worn skates in enclosed spaces because it's cruel, and practice falling because you will fall. ... show more
