  • Update your world geography and more!
My husband is an avid reader and always looks up maps of places in the storyline. The problem was that he was using a huge atlas from the 1960’s. Our 5 year old grandson got a USA Atlas for Christmas and they enjoyed looking at it together! It occurred to him that “maybe” he should upgrade his atlas, too! So, I showed him the newest features and options and he finally settled on this one and I had time to order it in time for Christmas! He loves all the features and we are learning so much ! ... show more

  • Binding doesn't allow 100% visibility
I was looking for something which laid flat so that everything could be seen, but I chose this atlas based on its other merits. It was a gift, and the recipient has been thoroughly enjoying it, so that's what counts the most.

  • my favorite atlas. for me it is the best atlas
For me, a normal person who reads the Wall Street Journal and the New York Times print edition every day, the National Geographic Family Reference Atlas of the World, fifth edition, is absolutely perfect for my needs. It is meticulously and thoughtfully designed to make it very easy to find countries and to present in an easy to read format essential facts about each country printed on the same page as the map of the country. I would give this 100 stars if I could. The maps are very easy to read, unlike the very difficult to read maps in the Oxford Essential World Atlas, eighth edition. ... show more

  • Beautiful Book
Recently updated, I’ve never had a new atlas before! This is a gorgeous book, nice paper, easy to read and find things. I wish the dust cover was laminated but I have no issues with the content, graphics, images and layout. Everything in this book is available online of course, but it is more than nostalgia to hold a book and view paper showing our world. I am not against technology, but I am all for learning through different mediums. Maps were traditionally paper and I use this atlas to sit on the couch and talk to my grandkids about the world. Everything should not be digitized. If this is sitting on your coffee table, you might be encouraged to pick it up and look at Egypt or Qatar or Burma or Ireland. I don’t get that urge that if my phone is on the coffee table! ... show more

  • Great!
It was a tough choice as there are many choices! And I wanted a fairly big atlas to see stuff but see details and political maps etc. It does skimp through Canada and Africa and south America. Overall very good. I like it!

  • Beautiful atlas
I bought this for my husband's Christmas gift to replace a 50 year old atlas. It is up to date with maps and information about countries/states all over the world.

  • A great Atlas
This book is huge and full of extra pages of information about the country map you are looking at, highly recommend it as a gift for a family of curious people.
