I got these for my 12 year old niece, who had fun assembling it with me. She did most of the work, so it's not too difficult for someone of that age - I just organized the pieces for each step, while she put everything together. The finished product is quite cool looking too. It did fall off its shelf and shatter at one point - and I can confirm it's just as satisfying to re-assemble the second time around. For those who aren't really into Pokémon but are buying this for someone who is: Lugia and Ho-Oh are legendary bird pokémon from the second set of games - and so they share a thematic connection with each other and are a good combo to pair together if you want two. ... show more

So the directions are not the best I will agree with others there. But once you understand that at each step they are showing two sectiona to build and the bottom one needs to be built first then all you have to worry about is lining up the pieces correctly. These are TINY! but I bought them for that reason. I wanted a challenge. I did this garchomp over several days just to have a project, but I did another design in a few hours. I love these miniature lego sets. Just be aware of what you are buying. They will be a challenge. And understand the directions aren't showing you step by step, they show how the section should look at the end. You have to count the raised parts to know which piece to use, the 4 or 5 long piece, etc. And the bottom structure has to be made first then make the one that is shown above it all. Line up the pieces like shown with tje arrows on the directions and you'll be golden. ... show more

My cousin loved the gift and is working on it during their free time. Lots of little pieces, so it was a little difficult due to conditions. I personally wouldn't be able to finish it, but then again I rarely used these types of toys.

It’s good to know what you are buying. These are not real Lego and are teeny tiny. My husband and I are able to assemble with just our hands. The pieces do not stay sturdy at every step which is frustrating. If you like tiny puzzles then this is for you. If you get frustrated from putting on a single piece a few times then it is not. Our 5 year old does almost all legos at all ages and cannot do these. He enjoyed watching us do it with him though. ... show more

When it’s fully built it’s so adorable!! It took me a moment to figure out the directions but after a little while you develop a sort of process. It comes with extra blocks incase you lose any, and the directions are easy to follow once you figure out how to read them :)
