Description

This Pretty Pink deluxe edition of My First Hands-On Bible is the preschooler version of the popular Hands-On Bible, which has sold nearly one million copies. Jesus taught with hands-on lessons and illustrations; My First Hands- On Bible uses the same experience-based learning to communicate God’s Word in an active, understandable way. My First Hands-On Bible is a fun and simple, yet meaningful way to engage preschool, prekindergarten, and kindergarten children (ages 3–6) with the Bible while helping them build a solid faith foundation. Each lesson focuses on a specific Bible point through a variety of activities in order to reinforce and help young children remember the stories and lessons. Using common household items, you can help your children have a “hands-on” learning experience while engaging them in 85 key stories from the Bible. My First Hands-On Bible doesn’t just retell the Bible stories; it also includes actual Scripture from the easy-to-understand and easy-to-read Holy Bible, New Living Translation. In addition to the stories and activities, there are fun illustrations, prayers, and a special Jesus Connection feature. Read more

  • Great, love it. Just wish..
It doesn’t have a page to sign and date it, but you can work around that. Also, wish it had a ribbon marker. My 5,6, and 7 year old enjoyed this as soon as we got it. They love the activities and questions. It’s awesome! Great purchase.

  • I love it!!!
Just got this bible yesterday and my 3 year old and I have almost read the whole book together. He keeps wanting more! It’s awesome. I LOVE how it’s actual scripture, NLT. I plan on using it for my preschool-1st grade Sunday school class. I can’t wait! I also want to order the kangaroo and sheep puppets to go with it. So cute! ... show more

  • Love
My son carries his every where and it helps him to feel included at church when everyone is reading from the word. I love this for him.

  • The best toddler Bible
I love that this toddler Bible actually uses text from the Word, not an interpretation of the Word via the author's ideas of what God is thinking and feeling. My 3 year old enjoys reading this with me, and while I do wish that it had more included (for example, the story of Noah's ark starts as they enter the ark and the rain begins, with no mention of why there is an ark in the first place. So, you will have to explain some things to your little one), all-in-all it is the best option I've found at this point. ... show more

  • Great for wiggly 4 year olds
I can't talk up this Bible enough. It is SO GOOD for wiggly little boys. My son is 4 and I look forward to reading this with him every day. We had been reading the NIV Children's Bible but I felt like we needed to get him in the actual Word. This is a great bridge Bible. I love it especially because it allows for additional discussion. Yes, there are a lot of stories left out, and yes, oftentimes it jumps in partway through and may end prematurely--but for a 4 year old it's perfect. He asks questions which leads to discussion, either about the context of the stories or about the snapshot we receive. The end of story Jesus Connection is well thought out and the two discussion questions are perfect for engagement length and offer us a chance to have a conversation and put faith into action. After all, merely hearing a message and agreeing with it is a waste--we need to do something with it. I love that this Bible uses the actual text as well. Since it reads differently than his storybook NIV Children's Bible it has introduced him to God's Word on a compelling way. I'll definitely be getting him the next version of the hands on Bible in a year or two. As a 6-12 grade Youth Pastor this is by far my favorite preschool introduction to God's Word. Can't recommend it enough. Also, my son's favorite color is blue--and the blue cover version is just the icing on the cake! We are a month in on this Bible and it's been such a blessing as a father to interact with my boy in this way! ... show more

  • GREAT Bible for 4-5 yr olds!!
My 4 year old LOVES this Bible. We are kids Bible junkies hahaha; I'm always trying to find the best one for my child's developmental stage so they aren't bored or overwhelmed with our reading times. We have 10 other kids Bibles, and this one is the first one she begs/reminds us to read to her every day! That's a major WIN! :-) She LOVES the "handprints" that are connected to something active that the child gets to do in the middle of story (like "walk across the room and bask to pretend you're walking on water"). These handprints really help her engage with the story and make it fun. And they often think of ideas that I would not think of! I also really appreciate that this Bible goes verse by verse through the Bible stories; most Bibles for younger children just paraphrase and many don't even give a reference! I appreciate that they are getting the children used to the idea of reading the Bible verse by verse. I also like the "Let's Talk" section because it has great question suggestions that I wouldn't always thing of asking; I also appreciate the craft ideas and other "through the week" ideas they give for bringing the themes from the story into everyday life. We aren't crazy about the "Jesus connection" section--some of these are spot on, but many are more moralistic or just plain random! (Example:For the story about Jesus as a boy in the temple, the Jesus connection says "We can ask people questions about God and Jesus".??? What is that? Why not talk about Jesus knowing God is His Father and that means He is the Son of God?!). However, this section isn't a huge deal to me overall since we have the Jesus Storybook Bible; it is fairly easy for me to create my own "Jesus Connection" words if the ones in this Bible seem too moralistic or too random. Overall: this is a GREAT Bible for active 4-5 yr olds who really have a hard time sitting still through devotional time. This Bible does the work of engaging them at their level, as well as giving great activity ideas for parents/caregivers. If you want your child to remind YOU to read the Bible to them, get this one!! :-) ... show more

  • Favorite Bible for little ones
I am an early childhood pastor and use this Bible in our classes for nursery-age 5. Although it is not a complete Bible, it has all of the main stories included in our curriculums and I appreciate that it uses Biblical text instead of paraphrasing/storytelling.
