No thought or care put into books

I picked fantasy as my book genre. For my first (and last) box I received, one book was the 2nd in a series, and the other was the 3rd book in another series.. it was very very upsetting after waiting such a long time for it to arrive, since my original shipment got lost in the mail. However, they di
d quickly send a replacement after I reached out. My missing shipment ended up arriving today and I was hoping that maybe it would be better… but nope.. it was literally the two exact same books that were in the other box! Be prepared to have random books of your chosen genre sent to you - there is no vetting done what so ever. Not to mention the titles I received could of easily been found at any Dollar Tree. Also, this is only the 2nd review I have ever written in my life - that is how bad this monthly subscription is.

I love receiving this box but…

The coffee is wonderful and I have begun also purchasing my favorites online. About the books- I deleted one star for curation of titles. At one point I subscribed to both fiction and mystery boxes and received the same nonfiction book in each box. Fortunately one made a great gift for a friend but I

Good coffee. Some fun books but poor curation.

1st box: I’ve received one book so far. In the order I got a sucker and a copy of a book called devoured and one called vampires. Devoured was a fun book and I enjoyed the twist and turns. (Devoured is the second book in a series) The vampire book on the other hand is a collection of vampire stories
that can all be found online for free. The stories are supposed to be a collection of the earliest vampire short stories. All those stories in the book free online. The book included brief introductions of each story but nothing to justify the price of the book. Also the same vampire book was included in my order of Thrill club this month. Now I have two copies of the book. This feels like very lazy curation. I enjoyed the coffee. Looking forward to what in next months book. But if I get another book with only content that can be found free online I’ll be canceling the order. 2nd box: the box included the books: Aliens:bughunt and The Brink by James s Murray. The brink is a sequel in a series. I find it a bit weird to get a book in the middle of a longer story. Coffee was from the mahalo roasters. Same brand, but a different flavor from the 1st box. The first and second box include books that are the second book in a series of books. None if the horror examples for books on the website include sequels. Why not send out the first book in a series???

I never would have picked either book, but I thoroughly enjoyed them both. The coffee was too mild for my taste but certainly drinkable.
