When I first bought muscle milk protein powder many years ago, I found it bitter and unpalatable, so much so that I didn't buy it again until I had exhausted almost every other protein powder on Amazon. Now that most of a decade has passed, I find it to be a bit more appealing. It isn't the best tasting powder, to be sure, at least the "Intense Vanilla" isn't, but I don't dread drinking it and with even a small accent, maybe vanilla paste/extract, cinnamon, or honey, I think it would be quite good indeed. As I usually have mine with both 20oz of water as well as psyllium fiber, I can't give you a good idea about consistency, but I would say it is thicker than most powders I've had, but not unduly so. That all said, as for bulk; I have 1.5 scoops once per day, along with 5g creatine and 15g psyllium fiber, six days a week after a light workout. I have a bf% of around 10%; I'm down to 173lb at that percent from my more typical holding weight of 178lb. My routine has remained constant, and this hasn't moved my weight in one direction or the other. I would say it is a good maintenance powder. No gastro issues, nor digestive ones. You should wash the shaker cup within 30m if you don't want it to pick up a smell, but this doesn't go off that quickly. Broadly; would recommend, but I wouldn't pay much of a premium over any other powder for it. I will continue my long walk through every protein powder offered on Amazon in tubs of 4lb or more. ... show more

The taste is fine, the ingredients are probably fine. Just one note, really - it gets very... grainy(?) in yogurt. I don't like drinking my calories, so have a post-workout yogurt and mix in the protein powder. For all of the types I have tried, before, it usually mixes in fairly easily and smoothly. This is the first whey protein powder that gets... really thick and has a grainy mouth feel. But i got it on PrimeDay for cheap so... *shrug* it works ... show more

Really really good protein powder. I'm pretty new to lifting and this stuff is great for post workout. However, unless I'm misunderstanding, this protein powder does not contain any BCAAs. There's a few people on the Q&As that say it does have BCAAs, but I can't find anything online or on the package to indicate that's true. I see there are OTHER supplements Muscle Milk sells that clearly indicates that it has BCAAs, but not this. So I guess I'll keep looking. ... show more

At least he’s not hard to shop for , this was a surprise gift for Christmas he was happy because it’s quite costly normally , where he buys it , so it was nice he was excited and this is his favorite flavor of them alll , he also says this is the best brand .

I’ve used protein for decades….yes, I remember the disgusting flavor back in the &0’s and 80’s….through the years, it’s gotten better. Muscle milk mixes well…I use 2% lactose….can’t bring myself to go non-fat, which is just cow bath! I use an electric small blender and only 20 seconds, it’s mixed well….chocolate flavor is not bad and my daughter even liked it…..and if it’s not pizza or chocolate milk, good luck! Highly recommend this product ... show more

Ok so I’ve always been one to mix and chuck my protein drinks. I’ve always been a fan of muscle milk but never liked the texture. I could never understand why the 4 pack cartons bought at the store were smooth and my mixtures were not. I always followed the directions then I did something different. I always start my days at 4AM but today I was running 20 min behind so I mixed up my muscle milk chocolate drink like normal then put it in my lunch bag. Got to work placed it in fridge. At 9AM my break rolled around and I realized I forgot to drink my muscle milk so I pulled it out and gave it a shake and to my surprise it was smooth as silk!!! The extra time game the formula the time it needed to dissolve fully!!! I’m so happy with this! For those that rated muscle milk as a bad texture drink, give it time to dissolve you will be pleasantly surprised!!! I couldn’t be more happy with this product. Also I want to add I started my diet 6 weeks ago, along with that I started drinking muscle milk every morning because of how it sustains me through the day! It’s a freak source of vitamins and protein! I’ve lost 45lbs now and am well on my way to a healthier me! Muscle Milk Pro Series is the way to go for me and I’m sticking with it!!
