I was hoping it was going to fit my telescope better, but the dividers are kind of in the wrong place, and I feel like it could get bumped while stored or being carried to/from the car and it doesn't offer that much protection. It is better than just carrying without a case, but isn't great.

This is a sturdy, well made bag. I use it for a 90mm f5.5 refracting telescope and a Sky Watcher AZ Gti alt-azimuth mount. It has just the right length (30 in.) and is much roomier in girth than needed. I love that the bag has a reinforced bottom for setting on rough and moist surfaces. The enclosed three padded bags are a helpful inclusion. I have three suggestions for the manufacturer for the next edition of the bag: 1) The internal pad separating the telescope from the tripod should be taller - it is just barely tall enough to separate the telescope and the tripod. Additional padding in the separator would help too. 2) Leave out the cell phone holder - I don't need one and I'd rather see either a lower price of an even better bag than get something I don't need. 3) Provide a case or insert that will hold a number of eyepieces - especially today's giant 2" eyepieces. No generic bag will be perfect and this comes as close as I could reasonably expect to meeting my specific needs. It holds everything I need for a perfect grab and go set-up and I expect to get a lot of enjoyment in using it. ... show more

I'd be hesitant to call this a "case" -- it's a reinforced duffle bag with internal straps that fits a telescope. It's not going to give your scope or mount a lot of protection for things being put on top of it or on the sides. Of course I knew that when I bought it, it's pretty obvious from the pictures. That being said it's is really well made and does the job I bought it for well. The 3 side pouches offer no padding - not on the outside or inside. This is one area I think they could have improved on and why it only gets 4 stars. A little extra padding on these would have made these pouches much more usable - as it is I use one of them to hold the phone mount that came with the case, I've got microfiber cloths in another, and the last one is empty. The accessories (2 bags & phone-mount) are good quality too. The larger of the two bags is just a small, thin bag - don't put anything of value in there. The slightly smaller one is padded and I am using it to hold a lenses in their cases. It fits a barlow, 3 lenses & my diagonal mirror (all 1.25" & inside their individual cases). As for the phone mount that comes with it 1/2 of it is good, the other not so much. I really like that part that attaches to the lense - it does a good job and it's the only one I have that also allows me to easily adjust the distance between the camera and the lense. The part that actually holds the phone though is not designed well. The pads on the side slip off easy and don't do a good job gripping the phone. Luckily this was all designed using the same standards as the other phone mounts I have, so I mixed and matched and came up with a good solution. I recently started an astronomy program for the Open Space agency where I work. We needed a way to protect and transport our Meade StarPro AZ telescope. Rhino offered a great price and fast shipping. The product arrived promptly, and is already holding the telescope. My first impressions are positive. The bag's workmanship and materials feel sturdy and high quality. The bag easily fit the telescope tube, tripod, and all the accessories with room to spare. The carry strap is a convenient feature and makes transport easy. I read in other reviews about the relative lack of padding. The bag does have some padding, but it's not really meant to be something you can drop and abuse. It will protect the telescope in the trunk of your car or the bed of your truck, and it will keep the telescope dust-free and organized in storage. That is everything one can reasonably expect from soft case like this. I would feel confident recommending this product to anyone with a similarly sized telescope. ... show more

I bought it for my Celestron Nexstar 130 slt and everything fits well and I still have space to store accessories. I love how one of the extra bags is helpful for storing the tripod plate because of its shape. I am not too convinced with the padding as it doesn't look too thick, but it is fine.
