I really like these cutting wires. The plain one makes very nice, clean cuts through clay. The curled one leaves a lovely striped texture. The plastic handles are comfortable to grasp and a good size. They are easy to clean, as well. They are a decent value for the money.

    • Useful Tools, Not Genuine Mud Tools Brand

Despite the "Mud Pottery" description title, these tools are not made by MudTools. They work fine but be aware that they are not genuine Mudtools, designed and sold by Michael Sherrill. The handles are slightly smaller and made of harder plastic than original Mudtool wire cutters. The originals feel like they are made of rubber and don't have the sharpe seam of these. The wiggle wire is thin, less beefy than the original MudTool brand wire. The wires in these handles are "not easily replaced" per website Q&A. That said, both wires are a good length and cut well. The hole in each handle where the wire is threaded through is large and clay can get stuck inside. Cleaning the clay out takes extra time. I haven't had these long enough to comment on durability of the handles or how well the wires resist kinking. Will update this review if I have issues. ... show more
