  • Not just for podcasters and less expensive than the name brand device
Size: 15 Keys
I've heard people mention stream decks in the past in the context of podcasting, and it sounded like a cool toy to have so I ordered one. I can't express how useful this thing is! I work in IT, and have quite a few repeatetive actions I do on my PC, This Stream Dock is to Stream Deck as Tissue is to Kleenex, for me they're interchangeable. I've programmed mine to open up applications I use often, as well as trigger actions within them. I can easily reprogram the buttons for any Windows shortcut key, and change the icon displayed behind each button. I'm pretty sure this is a 4.7" LCD screen behind clear buttons which gives the perception of each button being an individual LCD screen, much like today's modern slot machines. Pretty ingenious! I'm still learning what I can do with thing, and I'll definitely update my review as I do. If you thought about getting one of these, do it! Especially if you are a gadget junkie like me. ... show more

  • Super useful even if you don't stream. Uneasy about the source to download.
Size: 15 Keys
This unit is a versatile and useful tool. I have some positives, some negatives, and some "meh" things with it. Overall, I feel like I am still stuck between 3 or 4 stars, but I ultimately landed on 4 since I find myself using this more and more the longer I have it. Here is my list. Pros: -The screen is bright and adjustable, with graphics that come out quite well. -Adjusting the digital keys is incredibly simple, and with 15 keys available, it’s almost challenging to fill them all. -Although I’m not a streamer, I’ve found this unit extremely helpful for switching programs while working on 3D designs and prints. -The unit is compact, and the stand, though small, is nice and sturdy. -It comes with several very useful preloaded layouts, and I adopted a few after getting familiar with the deck over a few weeks. Cons: -The cable placement is on the top of the unit, which could pose a cable management issue. Just kind of odd to not have space on the bottom. The side seems like it could have been a better placement. -The software download is from a specific web address rather than a recognizable manufacturer’s site, and it comes from a non-secured area. This raised security concerns, although a thorough scan showed it was safe. Neutral: -The included stickers for the face may look a bit cheesy to some, though others might find them appealing. -Sometimes the icons do not transfer properly, resulting in a generic link icon. This isn’t a major issue but is worth noting, as not all brands seem to have this problem. Overall, despite some minor drawbacks, the MT-VIKI Stream Dock Controller offers an easy-to-use interface with a sturdy build, making it a valuable tool for both streamers and multitaskers. ... show more

  • Works well
Size: 15 Keys
I got this to use as a quick access keyboard shortcut device. I've mapped some of the most common shortcuts that I use in both my video editing and audio workstation software. It works very well and the resolution and quality of the individual button screens is very good. The buttons are responsive and feel decent. The software is straightforward and easy to use. The software runs on startup in Windows but if the dock is disconnected on startup then plugged in after the software is already running, you must open the software's window to recognize the dock and get the functionality of the buttons. For some reason it won't connect properly if the software is just running in the background. So just make sure to plug in the dock before turning your computer on so you can avoid this quirk. I didn't end up using any of the faceplate decals since it looks great already as is. So far I'm pretty happy with it. ... show more

  • Most Plugins don't work correctly, little to zero support for NA
Size: 15 Keys
I was very excited to try one of these streaming decks. There is one very similar to this one, and about 5 dollars more. Build quality: The Stream Dock feels solid and heavy. The buttons have a little stiffness to them, which causes the dock to slide on the base that is included. The buttons leave behind your fingerprint, regardless of how clean your hands are. The software support: When I downloaded the app and started running everything, I noticed there was very little NA support for this device, and plugins if you have issues. There is a Discord channel that I found on the main Stream Dock forum. However, when asking questions in regards to certain NA support, such as Celsius to Fahrenheit, it seems like I was removed from the discord channel. I could rejoin, but seems like they remove people for little to no reason. This made me believe that the support for this device is going to be limited, and most likely we will not get support from the creators. The applications and software: I streamed a little on the weekend and wanted to use some of the plugins that the software had. I started to notice that instead of saying Stream Dock, it was being called Stream Deck in the plugin menu on the Streaming Dock software. After a little more research, I noticed most of these plugins have been taken from the Elgato Stream Deck site and repurposed for this device. Quite a few of the plugins don't even work when you download them and set them up. I was very saddened by this. The other issue is that if you turn the automatic screen off, the stream dock stays on even when the computer is off. There is no way to turn it off by pressing buttons or programming a button to turn it off. Your only option is to unplug the USBC from the device. When you use the other options for the screen off, I noticed the system does not update the times as it should. You then need to press the button to get information such as system clocks. Speaking of clocks, all the time is in military time. There is no way to change to your normal 12-hour system clock. Closing: If this device was under 100 dollars, I would say go at it, but you are talking about a 5–10 dollar difference from its competitor, and you are going to get NA support. Look at the competitor, and then make your decision. ... show more
