I have plantation shutter throughout my home and over the years we have spent a fortune having a repairman come in and fix them when one of the dowels broke. This was a easy fix for my husband, after he figured out which drill size he needed to clear out the old dowel it took him just a couple of minutes to finish the job! My only complaint is on at least one of the replacement pieces the spring does not work so it will not be usable, but for about a buck each it is well worth the little loss.     • Easy, cheap fix for broken shutter blinds

The original pins on our 15+ year old shutter blinds fail on a regular basis so I keep a supply of these on hand to repair them. The hardest part is removing the old pin - one half of it usually has to be drilled out, at least on my blinds. The new ones are easy to install and seem to be pretty durable since none of the replacements have failed. ... show more
