  • A PERFECT Choice!
I hurt my back and had to set up a temporary office in a different place where I could still work comfortably in a recliner! My choice for a microphone was a crucial part of that and I am patting myself on my sore back for buying the Movo MC1000 . I have used it for calls to clients, a zoom office meeting already and gaming at night. Everyone has reported my voice as loud and very clear. I will be using it from now on, even when I return to my regular office. Installation could not have been easier. I plugged it in, and selected it as my sound input in Windows 10>> DONE! Quality and versatility is immediately obvious. It is powerful but low profile and small enough to not take up a lot of my now very limited desktop space. I could even place it much further away if I needed to. Excellent product, and well worth the reasonable price! Well done MOVO, your MC1000 is right behind my dog's paw who insisted on being in this shot! ... show more

Solved an issue with a meeting room that did not have a conference bridge in it. now anyone presenting from a laptop can pickup all the conversations in the room.

  • No more shouting at the computer screen
I bought the Movo MC1000 to use with a Mac Mini/TV setup in a residential setting during the Pandemic. Our family is able to interact with friends via teleconferencing (Zoom, FaceTime) and be heard clearly at normal speaking volume from anywhere in the living room; we place the mic on the coffee table. No more huddling around a laptop or shouting across the room. (We actually found that we had to train ourselves NOT to shout) Tge only issue I can report after months of use is that once in a while the mic would be randomly undetected by the computer even though the red light was on. Problem was solved by reseating the cable in the back of the mic very firmly; haven’t had the issue since. Sensitivity is great—no issues. Noise cancellation is great—doesn’t cut off active speaker, yet suppresses minor background noise like furnace fan running. ... show more

  • Overall a very good boundary mic for the price
Overall this is a very good quality mic for the price. It's basically the MXL AC404 in a different case and $10 cheaper, so I've copied my review of that mic here. It has a slightly fuller bass pickup than the MXL. That may be good or bad, depending on the low frequency noise in your room. I compared this to the similar Soundtech CM-1000, and there are pros and cons to each. Both had better sound than my Jabra Speak 410/510 USB speaker/mic, though neither has speaker or bluetooth functions. I would also check out the Samson GoMic, which (though not a boundary mic) is good sounding, flexible, and less expensive. The Movo isn't really omnidirectional; possibly this is a function of the 3 capsule design? In any case, mine acts more like a cardioid pattern mic (the logo is the front), and I got good results orienting the mic this way. 90 degrees off axis was several dB down and sounded more distant, and 180 was even worse. The SoundTech CM-1000 was omni, and though it had a few dB more noise and didn't sound as good as the Movo on axis, it was better off axis. Thus, in a room with only a couple of people or for more distant pickup the Movo wins, but for a small round conference table the SoundTech does. The SoundTech allows you to daisy chain additional mics for better pickup for larger tables or rooms; the Movo does not. But the Movo has a headphone jack, which the Soundtech lacks. Overall, a very good mic for $60 IMO. ... show more

  • Very satisfied customer
I wanted to give some time to mess around with this microphone before reviewing. After playing with it, and seeing how well it functions on the key reasons I bought it, I am very impressed. I needed a microphone that could perform from a distance of at least 12 feet. While many I found in this price range ($60) boasted a recordable distance of about 15 feet, this one advertised around 20. So when I chose it, my thought was it would have a clearer sound at 12 feet than the others. While I can't confirm or disprove that to be the case, I can say that this microphone in question performed quite well once the settings were right. Clearly picking up audio at a standard speaking volume well within that advertised radius. With a careful ear I noticed the microphone even picked up the sound of me opening a closing a door close to 40 feet away past a wall. Yet, when people are in the room communicating from all angles at various distances, this mic does well not to sound overwhelming. Even with close, loud spoken, individuals it doesn't get distorted easily, as some devices would if you are too close, or too far for that matter (as long as the source of sound is approximately within that 20 foot radius). For the price I paid, I would 100% recommend this mic. ... show more

  • Excellent mic for work from home
Bought this mic after receiving complains from colleagues that my company given headset mic was muffled when I gave presentations. The mic is sensitive and can clearly pic up noise/voice from meters away, so if you blast your ceiling fan or air conditioner then it might get picked up. But this isn’t an issue if you are continually talking as your voice will easily cancel out the background noise. I mainly use it for Microsoft Teams meetings and after using it I’ve never heard a single complain about my voice quality. Only complaint was that some echos were heard but that is mainly due to my room configuration not the mic. The mic looks awesome on the desk and enhances the overall ambiance and feel of the work desk. Installation is a breeze just plug into the computer let it auto identify/install the driver. ... show more
